The sign at the top of the new building has been unveiled and the grand opening has commenced. Mimi's vision for the fraternity of First Four refugees has been realized as the First Four Midday Revue. Think of it as a night club with very early hours, really bad jokes and cocktail waiters serving up bad drinks and wearing Mimi's trademark pastel mumus. Decent show today once we got past Halfy. I can't say that I liked OB1 - this is the direction most of us have hated the past 18 months, and it looks like it's going to continue to rise despite being completely geared to just one gender. The wipeout shouldn't ahve occurred but generally hard SPs w/ #1 box was certainly meant to be lost.

Greco left the Mustang up for grabs, but she got an assist from an excellent other bid on the private jet, of all things!
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

I thought that the bid on the private jet showcase was way, way over ... and she's only $660 or so away. Guess some things are hard to explain in life.

Remember how we avoided a monumental choke in Pocket Change yesterday? Not today in Let 'em Roll... ouch.

I'm almost pleased about this Look of the Week thing, and here's why:

If they feel that it is a good outlet to dump a lot of designer stuff so they won't appear again in the episode, then fine. If they have a lot of designer stuff, it should be presented and played for together instead of awkwardly scattered throughtout the show. It may seem counterintuitive, but I think that overall, the Look of the Week may lessen the overall amount of designer stuff.

I find it ironic how the show tries to mix up the prizes and offer "cool" things like over-stuffed trips and impossible to price items to make the show less "predictable." Yet, the same things happen every single time a show airs.

1/2 Off:  Tough luck, although I can't believe Lonnie thought the blender was only $11!
Line Em Up:  Great win!
IUFB#5:  I loved what Drew said after Rich's description of the fire pit table! :oldlol:
Let Em Roll:  What horrible luck! :-(
Showcases:  What a great bid by Donna!

Pretty good overall, IMHO.

The "Price Look of the Week" is making it blatantly obvious who they're gearing the show for.

The first half consisted of a 1/2-Off wipeout, a decent win in PAN, and an exacta in Line 'em Up.

Let 'em Roll was a total heartbreaker.

Ahh!!! The return of the evil 5-hour Jet Card!!!

I've noticed it too.

I like the Look of the Week too. The presentation was nice.

I really disliked today's show. Half was WAY too hard to get past 8 boxes eliminated. And that didn't even happen! We go from one quickie shows to 3 quickies?! Why? After last weeks great lineups, there was no excuse for today. The bad luck in Roll was just bad and made it worse. I hate having two quickies back-to-back too, makes the show seem rushed. And that first showcase seemed really cheesy. If you were gonna do retro, don't offer a 2010 model of a Mustang, not exactly retro.

On another note, great Line win! And glad Donna won her showcase. She deserved to win.

Do you realize offering a vintage car in the showcase would go to new levels of unfair?  Unlike a new car, a vintage car doesn't have a set actual retail price.  A '65 Mustang's price, for example, could vary from restorer to restorer, depending on a lot of factors.

The "Price Look of the Week" thing bothered me more than it probably should have.  I guess if they really, really want to give away designer stuff, it won't hurt to make it look like there's a good reason for it.

Incidentally, for something that I assume was supposed to look elegant, the music they used for that IUFB really didn't fit.

1/2 Off really wasn't all that hard.  The food dehydrator was the only item that was really difficult.

The badly-written showcases with their bizarre prizes feel very out-of-place on a show like this.

That's true. I forgot about that. Just a lot happened today and I'm not thinking right.
