Is it me, or have the SP setups for 1/2 Off been ridiculously evil as of late?  It seems like they've been using offbeat, obscure prizes that your average Joe Plinko would never know about for quite some time.  Just what the heck was that potato thing?

I think Drew sucked as the host today.  And it looked like Drew did not want to say the first IUFB thing about the prize going to who ever bids the closest with going over
That wasn't a showcase, that was an infomercial.

Why does this need to be said every day?

Why does this need to be said every day?

Probably a little something called Standards and Practices. You never know when somebody might not have paid attention to the rules. Maybe they've never seen the game before, or even the show!

I dislike it most when Drew sounds and looks bored. I'm sure that other hosts have off days, but they don't look quite so overtly zoned-out as he does.

What is with the SPs being unnecessarily hard in Half Off lately?

What I've liked about Now...or Then lately is that more of the THEN products were actually used in the GP games during that time period, such as the Wheat Nuts in today's playing.   8-)

You don't see Sajak looking at his watch when he has to say the rules for the speed-up round, or any other host do something similar when they have to explain the rules of their game. It's incredibly unprofessional, but I've come to expect it from Carey, who three years in is still a terrible host.

Here's my recap.

A couple comments:

1) I think you have a glitch in the Half-Off section...you list both of the first two items as being half-off!

2) Still in Half-Off...don't you win both SP's in each pair you guess correctly?  If so, there wouldn't have been a tie between Cecilia and Terry in the first SCSD.

3) They don't use the New York price for gold.  At least, they didn't three years ago.

Probably a little something called Standards and Practices.
Bob didn't mention the DSW rule or even the complete rules to the showcase on each episode. The exact rules to each game aren't even stated verbatim for each individual playing. I find it a little ridiculous that some members here are so adamant about Drew needing to make the IUFB speech each day or when "S&P" is used as the end-all reason why something must be done or quoted every day. It's not necessary.

1/2 Off:  Well, at least Cecilia didn't have to pick from all 16 boxes.  How the heck is a potato ricer more expensive than an electronic wine bottle opener!?
Line Em Up:  Nicely done! :-)

Pretty good overall, IMHO.

Why does this need to be said every day?

I don't think it has to be said. Barker occasionally skipped over it. It just came out of Bob automatically half the time, without him even thinking about what he was saying. Basically it is an abbreviated version of the rules of the One Bid game, and it does remind contestants to bid in dollars only. I have a feeling with Drew; someone is waving a cue card at him with this printed on it, and it probably distracts him in a way.
