Define coincidence: the show taped on the day that an episode aired, with this exact game, with this exact grand prize, with this exact price.

It's déjà vu all over again. Like yesterday, there's someone in the last four from the first four: Quentell. Like yesterday, that one person is in the blue podium. Mimi would love it if one thing is different. Today, she wants Quentell in the First Four Midday Revue. She's more than eager to pad her numbers, and stuff the show like a crab pot in the Bering Sea in January. But also like yesterday, Quentell has the last bid advantage. Can he ride it finally to the stage?

Not overly much to say about this one, although I felt like more than 2 wins were obtainable given Balance & Flippy.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Did Drew have a huge caffeine intake before the show?  He seemed very off-the-wall today.

Card Game was played very well, and even though we didn't see it clearly, the $5,000 card was shown for the first time since Bob hosted.

One thing I didn't like about how Drew revealed the car's price in Card Game was the fake-out reveal.  He should just read the price as he would the one bid or the showcase.  Amidst all the cheer, some people watching probably could not hear the actual retail price of $18,094 all that well, unless they did the math.

I think there was a potential spoiler for the delayed May 20 show on the TV in Swap Meet today.  Go watch that segment again when CBS or someone uploads that part of the show.

It looks like they revived the Win-at-Home game, which will last throughout the summer and, as Willy noted in chat, March 11, 2011.

Are you sure it wasn't a previously seen playing early on in the season you forgot about?

There really isn't that much to say about this particular show IMO except that this should've been at least a 3-of-6 (Freeze was very winnable IMO).

So is the tradition now going to be having good shows every Tuesday and Friday?

This is probably the best job Drew's ever done of hosting Card Game.  That's not to say it was fantastic -- just that it was far, far better than he usually does.

Balance Game really should not have been lost the way it was lost.  Freeze Frame, while not necessarily easy, was also hardly unwinnable.

I don't usually like it when Drew goes on and on about the prizes, but he was able to be funny today during Switcheroo without making it sound like he was berating anything.

The Showcase was pretty good today.

Nice wins in the first two games. Too bad the rest of the show went downhill after that.

I mentioned Seth, a contestant from a few days back, and how I liked him. He seemed genuine and sincere. Quite the opposite today with showcase winner Michael. He really seemed like he was acting, going through "the motions", mugging for the camera and all. Did not like.

I agree with that. The winning moment is not the same as in Pocket Change, where the card is supposed to be shown to the audience. The camera person just wasn't ready to capture the price card, making the reveal today very awkward.

I thought Drew did a terrible job with his explanation of Switcheroo today. Quotes: "There's a missing number in each one of the prizes" Huh?

"You have to put each block, uh, in the right place so all the numbers match up" What??

"Whatever number you match up, that's the prize you win" Que??

Horrible.

How about something like: "You have 30 seconds and your task is to use these blocks to complete the prices of each prize correctly. You win each prize the price of which you have correct."
Oh well.

Card Game:  Great win!  I wish Drew would actually say the ARP & what the difference is.
Switcheroo:  Better than not winning anything.

Not too bad overall, IMHO.

All of these game are games that i think  could be Retired, although i think Card game is safe , as well as switcheroo.

it just could be that they wanted to give the more frequent played games the day off.

Oh, God, how the hell did I forget that?  Michael was a total show-off.

On the other hand, I also forgot to mention how wonderful it was to hear the old dress cue during the Showcase.

I'll admit it, Switcheroo today, despite the loss, was one of the most amusing segments of the season. That's how you do humor on this show. Poor contestant though - that was a hard setup. Drew in general was high and off-the-wall today, but it oddly didn't negatively affect his hosting like it usually does, but rather added to some segments, particularly Switcheroo and in contestants' row. However, I AM glad there was no grocery product game today, haha.

Card Game today was about the easiest car game setup there's been on the show since, well, the last time they played Card Game. Maybe that's why they only play it every 6 weeks, sadly. (Of course, there are ways to make that game hard too - they just seem not to know them).

Lots of annoying showoff contestants today.

This show can't hide its cheapness and bizarreness anymore. Seriously, a glass bathtub and an office-in-an-armoire in the showcase? 4 prizes in Swap Meet totaling less than $4000? Yeah, it feels cheap now.

Timings:
One Right Price (3.5) - 3:42
Card Game (5) - 4:32
Balance Game (4) - 3:50
Freeze Frame (4) - 3:23
Switcheroo (5.5) - 6:03
Swap Meet (4.5) - 4:18
Total time (26.5): 25:48

Don't know how long it has been happening, but lately I've noticed that during the intro they are starting the main theme right around the time Rich says "Price" in "...you are the first four contestants on The Price is Right."  Since season 36, it used to begin later (after he finished that line)...  Just something a music geek would notice I suppose.
