Well at least it's not...
« on: November 04, 2006, 08:43:21 PM »
We all know that it is sad news that Bob is retiring and we've all thrown in our 2 cents as to whom we think should carry on his duties.  However, in light of the recent expressions of depression, I've decided to start this thread in order to provide some comic relief for those who may need a little pick-me-up now and then.  In what way, you ask?  Well, this is your chance to tell us who SHOULDN'T host the show next season.  This can be as off the wall as you wish.  And mods, if you feel that this is too soon, I understand.

Here is a bad idea: Mike O'Malley and Moira Quirk. I can hear it now

Mike: You are going to play Grocery Game. Let's go to Mo for the rules. Mo!

Mo: Mike, our player must purchase between $20-$21 of the products on the counter. The player may not purchase any product more than once.

That's pretty funny. I'm a fan of GUTS, but not if it takes over TPIR.

While playing Punchboard:  "[Contestant's first and last name], deal... or no deal?"
While playing Grand Game:  "[Contestant's first and last name], deal... or no deal?"
While playing Step Up:  "[Contestant's first and last name], deal... or no deal?"
While playing Let 'Em Roll:  "[Contestant's first and last name], deal... or no deal?"
While playing Pass the Buck:  "[Contestant's first and last name], deal... or no deal?"
While playing Temptation:  "[Contestant's first and last name], deal... or no deal?"

Or, how about Phil Moore from "Nick Arcade":

Phil: "IT'S TEMPTATION!  Here it comes to win your car and four prizes that are up to par! YEAH!"
"Cherish the past, accept the present, and anticipate the future.  They are listening to feedback wherever feasible, but they can't repeat the past."

One of my local radio stations had a very humorous suggestion:  Ozzy Osbourne.

"Oh, not more &#$^#&^*# furniture!"
"SHARON!!!!  I've been Whammied!!!!" (as he forgets what show he's hosting.)

As long as we're eliminating all the Nick gameshows here, how abut Olmec?

If your name is called from the altar of the glittering jacketed god, you must descend the staircase that leads to the row of many colors, where you must discern the cost of the mystical box of dish washing in order to be able to continue.  If you fail, the Morning Meal of the Ancient Quartet may await your presence.  But if you succeed,  must then choose the correct staircase of ascension, and choose the correct path to the Glittering Turntable...

Also, as I said elsewhere, if Marc Summers gets the job, it could result in a rather interesting revival of the Shower Game...

I can see it now. This is what would happen at the Showcase Showdown:

Marc: "You got 60 cents, would you like to spin again or take the physical challenge?" :-D

Several that come to mind:

Louie Anderson - Probably would just mumble the rules to a pricing game as he did during the first three seasons of the current FF...

J.D. Roth - "Let's! Get! Pricing!" (as opposed to "Let's! Get! Messy!" from Fun House)

Skip Lackey - "Rich, let's see the next contestant, please! Who is it? Who is it? Who is it?" :D

Mo from GUTS (when Race Game starts) - "On your mark, get set, (blows whistle)"

See if you can come up with some better ideas. Still, those suggestions are pretty funny! ;-)

I've got some:

How 'bout Johnny Knoxville (clean version)?

Knoxville (playing "Hole in One OR Two"): I'm going to do an inspiration putt, but first, the "lovely" Bam Margera will hit me in the head with this golf club!

Or, you could pick Fred Sanford (a.k.a. Redd Foxx).

Sanford (while spinning the big wheel): You got $1.00!  Awww, Elizabeth, honey, $1.00!  I can feel it!  This is the big one!

Finally, how 'bout Regis Philbin (God forbid):

Philbin (during a one-bid): $699.  Is that your final answer?

I hope that this provided you with some comic relief.
