If only someone would have run over and made a scratch on the car, Bonnie would have won Stack the Deck.

So, here's my question of the day.. Did we get a sneak preview of a new set for 5 Price Tags in the 1st showcase today? Pretty cool if it was...

Nearly another exciting win in Stack the Deck today.. Although I knew Fords tend to end with 4's.. ah well...
"It's a SuperBall prize package worth $11,245!!

Kitch, you need to fix your recap and put "WIN" next to Bonnie's total.  Bonnie's bid was closer to her showcase value.  Carmelita was farther away.

It's too bad Double Prices, eazy as 123 and stack the deck were lost today. Otherwise we'd have a 4 for 6 show.
pepe! It took us all summer to clean out all the skunk stink from seasons 36, 37, 38, 39, and 40!!!

LOL.  Too bad Temtation and Flip-Flop were also lost, or else we would have had a perfect show today.

But, instead.....it's 1 for 6.....

A Gold Plated MacBook.  Is Flava Flav shopping for the show now?

The second showcase had a nice theme.  Carmelita seemed like she was really gunning for trips.

Cliffhangers was played amazingly well today. Too bad that was the only win for this show, but hopefully the second show went better.

Bonnie's loss on Stack the Deck was heartbreaking.  I was right in thinking the last number would be "4".

Yeah, I did it on both recaps today. I need to pull them out of the showcase template so I don't do that anymore.

That is an interesting point...but I hope that it's not true.  5 Price Tags has one of the coolest sets, IMO.

And now that the season premiere's over, we return to the losing. I am really not surprised that Cliff Hangers was the only win of the day based on the setups in some of the games. I think they've started making Temptation easier because they do want it to be won, but unfortunately the "overpricing Camaro" bug showed up today. One positive of this show is that I actually liked JD's announcing job better on this show than on either of yesterday's - maybe I'm just getting used to it.

We got to hear more of the models talking this morning, and I must say, while it doesn't bother me, it really adds absolutely NOTHING to the show for me so far.

Timings:
Temptation (6) - 5:46
Flip Flop (3.5)- 3:11
Cliff Hangers (4.5) - 4:28
Double Prices (3) - 2:23
Eazy as 123 (4) - 4:20
Stack The Deck (5.5) - 5:38
Total time (26.5): 25:56

I disagree with the idea of bad setups. Double Prices had a repeat prize. It's a low-end Sea-Doo. It's $8,889, just like it was the last two times we saw it. The Tides set in Easy is also a known big ticket item. And really, anybody who shops for dinner rolls knows how cheap King's Hawaiian is, and that $1.89 is virtually the universal price for a 2-litre bottle of name brand soft drink. If not for that, StD would've been won.

I want to hear the models more.

I like that Temptation was played so early in the season, that it had a reasonable "gift total," and that it was set-up fairly. I don't like that it didn't use any of the correct music.

None of the set-ups were excessively mean except for maybe Flip Flop... Easy as 1-2-3 seemed particularly "nicely set-up" to me. There really shouldn't have been so many losses.

JD... he's certainly not as horrible as I feared, but there's definitely room for improvement. I'm looking forward to hearing Jeff Davis.

The first showcase today, like the first showcase of yesterday's late show, was pretty normal and well-scripted. The "precious metals" thing gave way to mostly sensible, price-able prizes that were nicely tied together. The gold laptop was a little silly, but overall, that was a good showcase. The second showcase wasn't bad either.

Overall, a slightly crappy lineup, but a decent show.
Quote
I find it ironic how the show tries to mix up the prizes and offer "cool" things like over-stuffed trips and impossible to price items to make the show less "predictable." Yet, the same things happen every single time a show airs.

How the hell could the show already be in budget mode on the first taping of the season?

Temptation's gifts were worth almost a third of the price of the car.  That's ridiculous.

The "conversations" with the Beauties during Temptation were also ridiculous.

Yesterday, Stack the Deck was jaw-dropping.  Today, it was heartbreaking.

It's too bad Double Prices, eazy as 123 and stack the deck were lost today. Otherwise we'd have a 4 for 6 show.

Gee, what an insightful statement. :rollold:

They had to make that massive game pay the rent that was probably all of the seasons budget just to make that game.
That wasn't a showcase, that was an infomercial.
