This episode was taped (according to old school GSN) on September 3rd, 1986 & according to the 1986-1987 season timeline, this episode aired on October 13, 1986.  This episode I believe gives one of the firsts(if not the first) Add 'em Up win.

That playing of Add 'em Up was interesting.  Just eliminate the highest of the four digits and everyting kind of fell into place!

How many years did Paul Alter direct the Bill Cullen version, and how long Paul direct the Bob Barker version?

Paul was the main director of the Cullen Price for all nine years of its run. He directed Barker's Price from 1986 to just about three years ago, replaced by Bart Eskander. (If anyone out there has a more definite date when Alter was replaced, pass it along.)

Paul Alter's Final show as director was February 2nd, 2001.  This was found in the season timelines in the FAQ.
