Fantastic 3 Strikes win. :-)

I felt this was a well done Earth Day episode. No guest stars was a big help.

You know, I want to say the Chevy Volt was an appropriate 3X car...but it wasn't quite. It didn't have any special cue, George just said a "new electric car!", and it looked like something in the 20s. The price ended up being acceptable (I was legitimately worried they botched it up) but the appearance threw things off for me - you got the right feeling last time from the epic cue and the instant appearance of a well-known high brand. Fortunately, Lesa was able to create another playing to remember. Note how I think even Drew was surprised 3 wasn't the first digit...

One thing that did improve was the directing - no giveaway shots, and I think a good new NO graphic. Still wish they'd zoom in on the digit.

The rest of the show was pretty good too! Clocky gets a well-needed win (Jared was a decent player who got boosted by -0, and his first bids were remarkably close), ?Switch? was pretty easy, and Mike continues to get screwed in Plinko. I still could do without this "motif" show, though - the OBs barely differed from the ordinary crap! It's like they went out of their way to keep the same stuff, but in green form...

Lineup:

3 Strikes: Amazing Win (She had 2 strikes before getting a number right)

Clock Game: Win with 3.5 seconds left.

Side By Side: L

Switch?: W

Plinko: W

Range Game: L

Overall a pretty good show especially with the 3 strikes win.

I Googled it during the game and the base price is $32,780. I'm not sure what bells and whistles today's car had to drive it over $40.

What do you mean you were worried that they botched it up?

Oh yeah, I remember seeing that on the main website too. That's actually some type of deal price, the MSRP is a more respectable $40280 (which you'll see if you try to build the car).

I was worried it would be <40k, which just wouldn't look good for 3 Strikes in 2011. Or even <30k, the way it looked. The car shouldn't look like a normal one.

-3 Strikes was amazing! After severely underpricing the car, I thought she was through. The fact that she made 6 more pulls after pulling two strikes was astounding. I'm so glad to see this game on a hot streak after the drought it had.
-Clock Game was also amazing. I don't understand why people jump from one point to another and start randomly spouting numbers. Also, Drew sort of dodged a bullet after he said "Lower" when it was higher.
-Side By Side was horrible. The audience RUINED a potential perfect show (even though Plinko showed up). Why would they think a trip like that was the lesser price after the prizes already featured? This game should have been won.
-Switch? was interesting. I think that's the first time I've ever seen a windmill offered as a prize.
-Plinko was so expected, but I liked it. I'm glad she hit the $10K.
-Range Game for a car was a nice surprise for today. I'm surprised she went as high she did. Oh well.

The showcases were reasonable on a theme show? That was nice.

That new "NO" graphic in 3 Strikes is really nice.

Wow...what can I say about Lesa? Not only did she come from behind with two strikes to win the game, she actually knew what she was doing and stopped to think! Contestants like Lesa are the ones the staff should strive to pick every single day with no exceptions. An amazing win! I dare say Lesa is a prime candidate for Contestant of the Year.

Rich DiPirro listens! A new "NO" graphic also showed up today that is much easier to read than the one used previously. It gets my seal of approval.

Clock Game was won based on sheer luck. With the way he was throwing out random prices, I was quite surprised when he eked out the win.

What was that Side By Side prize package--a chance to be duck master of Memphis with Justin Timberlake? Was this a holdover from April Fool's Day or 4/20? I honestly cannot believe this prize was for real. They may as well have offered him a trip to Boguslovania and a Strato-Intellicaster.

If there was ever a time to say that this is how you do the show, that time is now. The shows that feel like classic Price are the ones I enjoy the most. This one was certainly no exception. (This show will join the February 28 show on my DVR as a show marked "Keep". Incidentally, 3 Strikes was also won on that show.) I am a tough critic, but I like to give credit where credit is due. This show deserves an A+. Well done!

No doubt that custom paint had something to do with it. I don't recall ever seeing a Volt with that name splayed acrossed it like that before, in any previous images I've seen of it.

Because that price ended in -0? You really think they knew also that the cabana was $9999?

Which reminds me...Clock Game looks particularly bad when the "extra" bonus per say is 10 times the cash. I still don't know what to say on that, except it shouldn't happen again and is particularly straining on the budget.

Just how hard ARE they trying to make the small prize games now?  While that was an obvious stupid guess on the clock, the CFL's in Plinko were a trap... you can get six at Wal-Mart for $10 or less.  Guess they were those big 120+ watt equivalent (to be fair, they did look like it), in which case did they say this in the description?  And I was surprised at the $50+ compost container.  Looked like an everyday cooking pot to me.  I thought she had that one wrong.

The 3 Strikes win was nothing short of fantastic. One of the most exciting playings I have ever seen.

That $32K figure is after a ~$7,000 federal tax credit.
