this was a pretty dang good show with Pay the Rent in it. Line 'Em Up was a nice steal from -50 today, that definitely could have been lost even with 0 right. I enjoyed seeing the quickies set up nice (kinda interesting the super quickies Pa# and DP have both been blown this week), at least.

Rent suffered from tough GP syndrome today - apparently there's a ton of variants of No Gray, and then the usual cashews. The game becomes impossible with deceptive GPs, and it's going to be lost anyways, so please stop it, Adam.

That's Too Much now has two tough setups in a row, by bunching the prices up along with the right cars. With Mazda 2s being 15k, it's no wonder really people wanted to stop by the 5th one. Expected as we wind down the season but still disappointing.

One thing that was set up right was that DOB. If you want a DOB, low motorcycles as top prize and the WWP is exactly how you do it. Only small issue was that's two straight non-car days - the imbalance continues there.

Drew at least tried to clue the player in that you don't want to put the absolutely cheapest item at the bottom. At least they're recognizing how hard the game is to win if you don't get the strategy. I have to admit, I thought he should have gone for the $100K, because I thought the hair coloring was a lot more expensive than it turned out to be. Apparently, he did too.

Pay the Rent must be retired. The name of it doesn't even make sense to the actual gameplay. Are you really paying rent??

I knew a DOB was coming, those were El Cheapo showcases.

Drews explanation of PTR at least made it seem not so sneaky this time.
Ambers modeling of the karaoke machine was uh.. unique. Her rocking out looked like an injured peacock dance.

I see they're using the bag from now on in Pay the Rent. That just makes this god-awful game slightly worse than it already is.

And if this is budget mode, how come a lot of setups have been painfully easy?

Pay the Rent must be retired. The name of it doesn't even make sense to the actual gameplay. Are you really paying rent??

The name has been explained quite a bit. They Mike wanted to create a game that was so hard to win but looked easy they could get away with deceiving rules and have a max of $10K won per playing, if won, someone could use to pay off their mortgage/house loan/rent ect, so Adam made what we now know as Pay The Rent.
"Our dilemma is that we hate change and love it at the same time; what we really want is for things to remain the same but get better." - Sydney J. Harris

“For the premiere of season 30, CBS wanted to do a special primetime show. However, they asked that we also add a gimmick or a twist to make it truly special. I came up with the suggestion of taking the show on the road for the first time in its history." - Roger Dobkowitz

-Pay the Rent was a surprise. Too bad it was Pay the Rent.
-Nice Squeeze Play win. I thought it was easy.
-That's Too Much was another tough one way loss. That seems to be the theme for the game this year.
-Double Prices could've went either way. Too bad it went the wrong way.
-Another "almost insta win" in Line 'Em Up. That was a real toss up. Glad she was right.
-Cliff Hangers was EVIL. They lowered the 20-30-40 rule by $10. It was still easy. Glad it was won.

Not a bad showcase round. After two DSWs in three days, a DOB was completely expected.

It looks like the show is getting back on track with good shows. Here's to Thursday's show.  :pint:
"WHO GOT BIRDS?" - Snoop Dogg
Coming on Down since Season 20!
Season 13 & 14 CSS Champion

Me: Of all of the game shows you've hosted, besides Jeopardy!, like High Rollers or Classic Concentration, which is your favorite?
Alex Trebek: I'd have to say To Tell The Truth, because it was the first time in my career that I got to sit down while I was hosting.

Rent didn't completely suck today.  Really liked Drew's explanation of the rules...I wonder if he's getting frustrated that the game is being not-maxed-out....

Great lineup to boot!

Cliff Hangers had 10-20-30 as the small prize prices(albeit the 10 dollar prize was the LFAT-memorized Libman Mop), which means the usual 20-30-40 or 25-35-45 would have both been losses.
