CSS Results for December 1
« on: December 01, 2006, 01:09:28 PM »
Today caps off what has been an inconsistent week at best. Starting with two days of mass overbids, we've come away stronger for it, a DSW on Wednesday and one today, and lots of promising bids.

The Electracraft boats are overpriced. This particular model is over $20K even though it certainly doesn't look it. Garfs on this showcase were at least somewhat understandable. But there's garfing and then there's garfing![/i] A Town Car base is over $42,000. Much like with the sailboat from yesterday's showcase, this is a prize that should stick in your head as expensive, and at least fairly predictable. To me, it's the Three Strikes car of choice.

But enough with that! LudwigMackdaddy comes back from a slow start to the week with a BAM! and grabs a $60 difference on a showcase worth over $50K! And perhaps I need to call myself Cap'n BuddyTom because for the second straight day I've come away with a boat!

An excellent job getting out of the doldrums, and overall a good start to December. Rest up, study your prices, and I'll see you all on Monday. A safe weekend to all.

BRB, you're killing me here! ;-)

I think we have an historic CSS moment today:  It's (I believe) the first time someone scored less than 100 points on a double-points day. :-( (Without going over, of course)

Damn, I was so close to that Lincoln, I could smell the leather interior.  I thought I had that showcase and the boat showcase in the bag today... only to see Ludwig drive off with the car and Tom in the party boat right behind him.
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

That boat WAS kind of overpriced, because I ended up with an $11,000+ garf on it!  Actually, I bid rather conservatively on SC-1; that's why I garfed.

As for SC-2, if I would've bid just a tad higher, I would've scored a pretty good bid.  Not enough to win, but still a good bid.

WOO-HOO!  I'm in the Top 10 today!  See y'all on Monday!
I just wanted to drop you a note and thank you for your love, affection and loyalty to me, drew, the models and.... The Price is Right....thank you for being such a "Loyal Friend & True". -Rich Fields (in an e-mail sent to me on 3/17/2010)

Well, I guess no one can accuse me of being a gutless coward.  Going all-out for that Lincoln.

Drat...yet another great bid by me goes to waste for sake of the never-ending quest for a Bachelor's degree.  Sigh.  Today, it was a lecture on the history of insurance (yawn) preventing me from bidding $50,050 on the Lincoln.  I'm glad Ludvig doubled on that one.  So much for tying Heels today...

So let's get the new terms we defined today straight:

A bork=a 336
Dominating the CSS field=a Fireball
Bouncing back on a Friday after two or more overbids=a FieldsFan (or a Double-F)

Sounds good to me :-D

Umm...I hate to be a downer, but I would hardly consider a double-garf to be 'bouncing back'.  Then again, who am I to talk...I haven't been tearing it up this year either.  (Question:  If I hate being such a downer, why am I always such a downer on myself?)

Me either, but two weeks ago, she won on Friday for the first time, so I think that a few bragging rights are hers. Just spare me the llama-riding bananas. :-D
