Super Pushover: How was that lost?

1/2 Off: The wrong remaining blue box was picked; who knows what would've happened had the cookie cutters not been chosen to start.

AN: The backward run of numbers on a non-car prize didn't work today.

SS: Fairly easy, because the dishwasher wasn't from Elmira Stove Works.

F-F: I would've lost by Flopping.

LER: Udder cream strikes again.

Showcases: That guy should've used his $20K bid on Showcase #2, because that would've triggered a DSW.

Another average show today.

Typical Mike show, made no headway on the setups, had a weird Push situation (was the guy really not able to visualize 17 in his head?), and the SCs were still low.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

I wish Linda had made it to the Showcase... she was one of the sweetest people I've ever seen on TPIR. How could you not root for her?

I might be the only person on the whole board who doesn't mind at all the the showcases have returned to "normalcy" if you'll allow me to use that word, and here's why.  For a good long time there was always one (or sometimes BOTH) showcases whose value was overinflated to the point of insanity.  Those showcases, I believe, prevented them from playing more of the Big 3 because Mike wouldn't risk the damage to the prize budget knowing the values of the SC's.  Also, I knew of a discussion where Drew never thought it was fair that only ONE person would win a substantial amount of prizes, hence the rabid one bid ARPs for a long time, which also BTW have decreased back to a state of "normalcy".

Sure you could argue that the sudden decrease in value makes it harder on contestants currently to bid on a SC because they or their finger-upping friends believe there's no such thing as a "sub-20 showcase", but there was a time when regular showcases hovered right at that amount.  If we assume that this is not just a budgetary reason and that maybe there is a change back to not having x+% of the prize budget for that day loaded up into one showcase, then I'm on board 100%.

As for Pushy:

1.  No way was that supposed to be lost.
2.  No way should they be giving away trips on a normal day that are >$10K (Cmon Mike, who is going to pay the $2500+ in taxes to accept that trip).

Only if Mike stops forcing car losses on them too and keeps them mostly fair and open, then I'd be on board.

Mike's favorite - a win that costs $0 on the budget!

What it seemed like to me in Push Over was that the guy had the $14K price in mind, had it partially in the window and wanted to nudge it so that it was all the way in, but due to nervousness and/or conflicting advice from the nuts, pushed it too far. I would have just asked Drew if he could accept the partially-pushed-in price, myself.

These post-Stephanie shows continue to leave something to be desired.

1/2 Off was set up fairly, though. She really should not have botched the cookie cutters/carafe; I don't know where she shops that she has to pay $40 for cookie cutters. Of course, that in no way guarantees the win anyways...

That $1600 laptop claims another victim, as does the udder cream.

Showcases were low but at least not sub-$20K; SC2 in particular might have even drawn a DSW since a simple $20,000 bid would get that. Also, no DOB, thankfully.

I know they used a suite at a high-end hotel for six nights, but $14K for a trip to Boston? (BTW, I wouldn't exactly consider a view of Boston Harbor to be particularly aesthetically pleasing, unless you like watching planes taking off from Logan).
So this is the "get off of my lawn" stage of my life.  I'm not impressed.

I had to miss today's show over my frustration over a video game because i had to redo the whole level in that game. But 1/6 ain't very bad.
pepe! It took us all summer to clean out all the skunk stink from seasons 36, 37, 38, 39, and 40!!!

Wow, this post went up 4 hours ago and there's only been 9 replies. That about says it all - this wasn't quite as actively bad as the previous 2 shows, but there's not much to say either. The 1/2 playing was interesting - I thought she stopped the Mike when she picked 16 - but there's really not much else to note here. Just normal setups with bad results. And Push Over REALLY shouldn't be played for $15,000 trips.

Timings:
Push Over (4) - 3:28
1/2 Off (5.5)- 5:13
Any Number (5) - 4:22
Shopping Spree (4.5) - 4:30
Flip Flop (3.5) - 3:38
Let 'em Roll (5.5) - 4:33
Total (28): 25:44

What was Nia on during that first segment?  A made-up number, then an attempt to change her bid, then the use of another game show's catchphrase... wow...

Speaking of weird people in Studio 33, could somebody tell me what was up with that guy with the tattoo-covered arms sitting in the third row, immediately behind contestants row?  Every time the camera panned from blue position to yellow position, he was acting like a complete chadhole.  Normally, I don't notice people in the audience unless they're celebrities or Golden-Road.net members... but this guy really had me up a wall today.

Did Brent not hear Drew say that the trip to Boston had 5 numbers in its price instead of 4?  I don't know how else to explain his actions and his blowing an easy win.

Speaking of blowing easy wins, how does somebody actually think that a dishwasher is more expensive than a laptop computer?  Unless that dishwasher says Elmira Stove Works of Fisher-Paykel, don't pick it in Shopping Spree!

Well, thank God Flip Flop was won to prevent a winless show.

My showcase bids:
:frbs: --$21,107
:frts: --$18,107

Ahh... the good old days when we regularly had boat and trailer showcases on the same day...
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Push Over:  Doh! :-(
Shopping Spree:  Evil, IMO.
Flip Flop:  Yay!  A win! :-)
Let Em Roll:  1.  How could Debra & the peanut gallery think that the udder cream was more expensive than the surface cleaner!? ??? :headbang:
2.  I would've went for the car instead of taking the money.  No guts, no glory!

Not too good overall, IMHO.

Wow.  It's episodes like this one that make the rest of the shows hard to watch.  Drew really gave a damn today, and there were a few moments where he was pretty much channelling Bob.  Of particular note was the end of 1/2 Off, where he actually built up the final reveal.  He also deserves major props for deftly handling a very awkward loss in Push Over.

The one thing Drew did that really bothered me today came in the first Item up for Bids.  I don't know if Mia was being serious about changing her bid, but Drew didn't let her, so if she was, the show owes her a dress and a trip to Boston.
