...Really? Wiping out a decent amount of constructive posts, Kitch? Seth would have come in eventually...

Anyways, originally I had a joke about how this must have been an April Fool's joke show because it was so bad... I wish that was the case. :P

Cover Up really has a decent shot at going winless the whole season. There are no signs anyone will go low when necessary.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

One: I don't know why we should give a damn about this jerk. Why should we drop what we're doing and listen to him on how he got rubbed the wrong way or whatever? At least that fool is out of our hair...........

Two: The show today wasn't a good way to end the month. The only good thing was Squeeze Play. Even though it was a easily forced win, at least Lisa Marie prevented this from being a skunked show..........So congrats to her.

However, I can't believe that Mike would put Cover-Up and TTM on the same show again. I pretty much changed the channel, knowing that neither one of those PGs would get won. There have been too many losses, it's just downright predictable, IMHO. They're just like The Mega Millions Lottery that everyone's talking about: You have better luck getting struck by lightning than winning either one of those two unwinnable games. Considering pulling a stunt like that, Mike really didn't want anyone to win a car today. Hopefully next week will be better than this.

Anyway, this show was about more interesting the way I did the PxP today then the show was. (Of course I am utterly biased in this department.)

However, the MSEL has been on fire hitting the Clangers button this week. That's two double clanger shows this week. I swear we've had more clangers than overbids this week, oh wait. :)

However, to some degree I am happy Season 40 doesn't have an A.F.D. episode, makes Season 39s look so much better.

To be fair, we've been lulled into a sense of "let's politely fire back at the troll" since Seth has been issuing out wins, so if we hadn't kept going there wouldn't have been anything besides to original post to delete.

I have a headache and didn't really want to wait for that.
To be fair, this was a bit extreme. But as I just said, we wouldn't have even been in this situation had we left him alone. Your say is final and I respect that.

----------------------------
I won't go through saying everything I said before and gloss over the highlights.

Color me mystified as to why they didn't air the ACM Special today if they weren't going to do anything. That's weird.

Larissa's comment during Cover Up was funny.

Jeannette was very enjoyable during It's in the Bag.

Maybe the joke was to gear us up for an AFD special by airing the ACM Special on Thursday and then.....do nothing.

Eh, I'll just post Showcase 1 Speculation Time again!

Had Jameil continued along his train of thought of bidding about $30K, would he have...
1. Bid exactly $30,000 and thus miss the DSW by $6
2. Padded his bid by $6-$256 and thus have gotten a DSW
3. Padded his bid by more than $256 and thus have painfully gone over
4. Tried to smack Mike for doing something like add in some donuts just to avoid the easy DSW (again)

I mean, it's one thing to make the showcases hard to DSW; I don't mind encouraging contestants to not bid even thousands all the time by having the last three digits be, say, -300 to -900. But adding random prizes that serve only to bring an ARP just past the -250 mark just seems mean to me.

The only game setup for a win today was squeeze play. Everything else was evil especially cover up and That's Too Much.
pepe! It took us all summer to clean out all the skunk stink from seasons 36, 37, 38, 39, and 40!!!

Cover Up really has a decent shot at going winless the whole season. There are no signs anyone will go low when necessary.
The problem is often players gets 4 out of 5 right on the first round of guessing, boxing themselves into having to guess one of the last digits, and a loss becomes virtually inevitable.

That's Too Much gets the thumbs down from Me again because You might as well play Range Game.  If these games fail to get a winner anytime soon then it's time to retire them and bring back nicer games like Hit Me and Poker Game.

Games do not get retired because they aren't getting won; especially not in this era.

(Well, unless they realize right off the bat that it's too hard (Bullseye), but both games in question have been around for 10+ years.)

Also, if you go by this logic, there are several other games (Golden Road, Punch a Bunch, Triple Play) that should've been retired a long time ago.

And besides, with TTM and Cover-Up being on heavy rotation, that's basically Mike's way of saying, "The show is on budget mode." It's one thing to throw a monkey wrench at those games to make it to the point of being impossible to win, it's another to put those games on the show a lot more than usual. I mean, we had some good shows this month (Even the Twins special was good, which I find ironic seeing that special shows always get a bad reputation)............Why else would Mike try to milk TTM and Cover-Up out to dry? But if anything needs to be retired, it's Triple Play.

Cover Up and That's Too Much! have always been on frequent rotation, all the way back to their beginnings. Back in those days, they weren't notoriously hard (though That's Too Much! has always been hard, it's been harder in recent years.)

As for the Triple Play comment, I don't agree. It just needs to be played more (getting rid of the designer crap so they can afford it being won would be a good start).

No game needs to be retired (except that god-awful Pay the Rent, which looking back, makes that second part of my last post seem moot :P); we don't even seem to have enough as is.
