Awesome double showcase win today! :-) Mark seemed like a genuine guy with a good sense of humor. I was happy to see him win so much in the end.

Cliff Hangers again? Where's Bonus Game?

I was getting a little worried about the contestant getting the car in 10 Chances. And how about getting the second prize on the first try? It's been a while since I've seen that.

Happy New Year!

What the heck was in that South Africa showcase...wow.

Nice to see another $1,000 win on the wheel, and of course the DSW.

Grand was at its fairest in awhile, but the crackers still got him...

10C definitely showed she knew the game enough. I think just having such a cheapo car threw her off for awhile, but when you can ace the middle prize you can afford to waste a couple chances.

I've been waiting awhile for a dead-on bid with a random ending. Yes!
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Grand: Pretty easy for me.

CU: Jillian did about all she could.

S?: Easy.

Double: Mark should've listened to the audience.

10C: Considering the $13,640 Cobalt wasn't won late in Bob's final season, I wasn't too certain Helen would win the $13,920 Spark even though she had seven chances left heading into the car numbers, but she did in near-flawless fashion!

CH: Good playing.

Showcases: I wasn't too surprised the second Showcase was expensive, because safaris are usually pricey. But we then got a nice surprise in the second DSW of the season! If only Mark hadn't blown Double Prices, he would've been the biggest overall winner this season.

Nice show on New Year's.

Amy in the blue spot never got on the stage at all.

Another blue spot day never won on stage today!

Blue spot is the most difficult spot in the contestant's row to win to get onto stage in Price Is Right history!

Amy will receive something else today!

A awesome way to start 2013!

THE BAD NEWS:

GG: Jason should've stopped at the carrots

CU: It's 1.............It's always 1. Tough break for Jillian, though.

DP: A bit evil for it to be centered on just computer equipment. While Mark lost on that, he was the 2nd DSW, winning it by $23!!!!!!!

THE GOOD NEWS:

Switch?: Good for Valerie to switch those trips!

Cliffhangers: Dominius "dominated" that game today!

10C: What's with Mike and cheap cars now?  :-? Either way, it was a good thing that Helen switched the 9 and 3 for the Spark!

1/2 and 1/2 show and a DSW today.............A pretty good start for the new year!

I surely thought a loss was booked for 10 Chances the moment I saw that Spark. Thankfully, she gained enough chances on the car and had some good help from the audience to narrow down a price. That is a dangerous car for this game, especially if the first two prizes take a while.

That was a fun playing of Cliff Hangers. I love seeing contestants' family and friends steering them to a win.

I had a good feeling about Mark's bid and boy was that right. Great bid from him.

All in all, this was a pretty good show to open up the new year.

I think it's messed up to have that particular price on a car in 10C.  With those digits, a non-LFaT, or anyone that expects cars to be worth a fair amount, could be thinking 19XX0, 21XX0, or 23XX0, as opposed to the $13,000 point.

A fair setup for this game would have been 1 3 9 4 0.  There should never be more than six feasible choices in this game; if you go into the car with 6 shots it should be an auto-win.

Today went really well with 3 wins out of 6 and a double showcase winner. I sure hope that don't affect the budget mode. Cliff hangers was easy so was ten chances, switch, and double prices but that should've been won.

The setup for 10 Chances today was darkly hilarious. They were currently playing the "even though this car looks cheap, no one can possibly guess it's as cheap as 13k, they'll just say 19 or 21 or 23 and lose" card, which makes the show look cheap in a way. Glad to see that setup backfired due to different people in the audience knowing what they were doing. Today we definitely had a good 0-rule player who just got stymied by the car's price for a couple chances, as we've seen happen a few times, albeit never as badly as today. It seemed she took a long time though, as it was apparent there was a lot of gameplay edited out that we didn't see.  Also today was 4 weeks and a day since the last 10 Chances playing on December 3rd. I think that's a good rotation for the game.

And of course not only a 10 Chances win, but also a DSW today! Since we know showcases will never end in 000-250 anymore, it was good to see someone finally pick just the right random ending 3 digits to hit a showcase on the nose. No idea what was in that South Africa showcase though - why is it necessary to offer such outrageously priced trips again?

Was it just me or did Manuela have a little accident with Chuggs there in OB3? :) During the intro, it cut to an odd extremely wide shot that left out the train, and they mentioned Manuela's terrible driving afterward. In before it shows up on priceisright.com...

Don't like how they're offering that $13K car in non-fee games, but thankfully, enough people in the audience knew how cheap the Spark is to help us get yet another win in 10 Chances. Getting the second prize right in one try and thus having 7 chances at the car helps too, of course.

And that was an amazing bid for the DSW. $23 is the closest anyone's gotten on a Showcase bid since the exacta. Not only that, but the next closest bids, a couple of $26-off bids, were on $xx,000 bids, so to get a bid this close on a much more random bid is crazy. Great way to start the new year.

I honestly wonder if Drew's mentioning of strategy in Cover Up hurts contestants more than it helps them?  I know that if strategy is used well, contestants can increase their chances of winning the car by guaranteeing additional turns in the game, but it seemed like when contestants went into the game having an idea of what the actual price of the car was from the get-go, they seemed to win far more often.

I will say that Cover Up isn't fun to watch these days because it has such a string of losses; it makes That's Too Much! seem like it has had more winners this season!

10 Chances was awesome to watch.  The frustrating part was seeing Helen wonder if a tiny Chevrolet Spark was over $19,000 or $21,000.  Thankfully, the audience talk her into $13,920 for the win; that has to be the lowest car price featured in 10 Chances in several years.

I wonder how expensive that African Safari was to make the second showcase worth more than $37,000.
