I am sad at another Bag & Rat 4-6 combo (or other way around, that's happened too). Overused and awkward in flow (never mind I don't think these two belong in the same lineup). Along with the often-long Pocket, a long lineup and as a result we had to rush through those games and cut time off of SDs and SC reveal to fit in guest SCs... meh.

On the other hand, we had a very solid Pocket playing (minus a too drawn out tax reveal), winning on both in Flippy, and a double dollar, so this was the best show of the week by far - not saying that much, but it was a step up from some of the other slop.

Unfortunately, Rat finally had a chosen rat malfunction, and it ended up as awkward as you would have expected. I hope it doesn't happen again for another two years, and that maybe the contestant will win something else despite it next time, that was kind of a worst case scenario right there (although he managed to sneak by a car SC win at least).
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

A rat malfunction was inevitable, but I'm glad it waited this long for it to happen.  I'm not too worried about it happening again in the future, as long as its only one or two of the rats.  If there are less rats finishing than prizes that can be awarded, things could start getting messy.

Thank goodness for Adam, he turned a pretty meh show into a very enjoyable one.  Shame he didn't win his showcase, but in the same breath good to see Leroy get his redemption.

Nice job on the quick recap!

I'm pretty sure a rat malfunction hasn't happened before but wildbill was convinced he has seen it before. When asked for a date, he fell through. Has it happened before?

Despite a malfunction on one game, it wasn't too bad.

THE BAD NEWS:

Double Cross: Sandra did have the right outcome, but she hesitated and changed it.

IITB: Best if Melissa stopped on the Unisom.

Rat Race: Man, everything was messed up on this game..............The editing from introduction to the presentation of the game was pretty shoddy. Polito didn't get his job back, did he? ???

Anyway, Leroy pretty much got screwed over with the yellow rat he picked........It didn't even run, which, at first, I started to think that he should've gotten at least a tech win because of that. However, after he got a grand on the wheel and Mini Cooper on his Showcase (which he won by $65......Pretty damn close), the incident should be the least of his worries, and in the end, Leroy became "The Master" (The Last Dragon reference).

THE GOOD NEWS:

Pocket Change: Ronalee did great on it! I don't know why this should be played more and not "Don't Pick The Cheap Price" aka Gas Money.

Flip Flop: Adam did awesome...........And he used finesse with his second $1.00 on the wheel!

ME: I really thought those bags would be the most expensive, not the W/D. At least Elaine got it!

BTW, Roadgeek Adam, the correct order is:

W/D: $2998
Designer Bags: $2065
TV: $1000

3/6 wins make it a good end of the week!

Guys, Rat malfunctions have happened before. This is just the first time someone picked one of them. It's in the games rules that one or more rats may not finish or may not start.

Vader is exactly right. We usually don't see the malfunctions because the rats chosen usually finish and so all the focus is on them, while the ones that don't work just sit there without much acknowledgement.

PC: Good luck by Ronalee!

F-F: I had a feeling Adam needed to do the whole thing & he correctly did!

DC: I was afraid the bottom two choices would take down Sandra.

SCSD #1: Possibly our last $26K win of the season by Adam!

IItB: The soap should've at least been gotten.

ME: Easy.

RR: HORRIBLE luck for Leroy- that's the first time I've seen that happen. I wish he had won the $26K, too.

Showcases: Another painful loss (by $65), this time for Adam- he passed the first Showcase & was right in thinking the other one would be more expensive. Unfortunately, his $28,750 bid would've worked better on Showcase #1; I thought Adam had lost because he was slightly over, but that wasn't the case. He was so close to being the biggest male winner this season, but he didn't have that much to lose.

Best show of the week, IMO.

Pretty good show today, especially with another double dollar.

And it would have been nice if they could have incorporated Rich Fields into the second showcase somehow, because he's been with KCBS since leaving The Price Is Right, hasn't he?
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

A chosen rat has malfunctioned once before, on 5/14/12: http://www.golden-road.net/index.php/topic,19531.0.html Oddly Pocket was also played that day. This was....just about as awkward. Actually, that may have been a little worse, because that was the contestant's only rat.

As others have said, this was actually a really enjoyable show. It ended up being packed in really tight due to a long lineup plus guest SCs plus Wheel dramatics, but hey, if we can fit it in, we should. It was nice seeing someone get a really good envelope total without $2.00 in Pocket - feel like that never happens. It was played fairly well anyways, glad she won. Then SD1 would be a good demonstration of "this is exactly how to finesse to get yourself $25,000". Glad that all played out the way it did. And you know I like to harp on this, so it was nice to see a very rare Flip Flop win when the answer was flip and flop :) Generally a fun show all around, and made even better somehow by the fact it wasn't set up to go this well.

Timings:
Pocket Change (5) - 5:29
Flip Flop (3.5) - 3:27
Double Cross (4) - 3:19
It's In The Bag (6.5) - 4:49
Most Expensive (3.5) - 3:13
Rat Race (6) - 4:43
Total (28.5): 26:00

I never saw the show today since I overslept, but looking at the Facebook page for TPiR... people are calling for Rat Race to have restarted or that they declare a "tech win" and give Leroy the prizes...

After what he said since leaving the show, I highly doubt the Crew would welcome him back in open arms....

Nice wins on Pocket Change, Flip Flop, and Most Expensive & nice to see a $26,000 winner on the Big Wheel! :-)  Pretty good end to the week, IMHO.

Guys, Rat malfunctions have happened before. This is just the first time someone picked one of them. It's in the games rules that one or more rats may not finish or may not start.
It shouldn't be, IMO.  I don't think it's fair to the contestant when that happens nor does it make for a fair race.  IMO, Leroy should've been given the prizes.  I've seen before when the contestant was given a prize or prizes because of the game malfunctioning.  I saw it happen once on Magic # & once on 10 Chances, just to name a couple.
