It could also lead to situations where you know what the number in the Piggy Bank is and thus, can easily win the car. For example:
This has been discussed before. Just to be clear, I wasn't suggesting that the piggy bank amount should be maximized. I was stating that the game would be more predictable, as your example shows, if it was maximized. In the case of today's show, I just thought about the reasoning (if any - perhaps it was a random arrangement) behind two dollars something vs. seven (or eight) dollars something.

I'm aware, but I was mainly making my point to plinkoboard, who I don't believe was around when it was brought up.

Right, but in the end it still doesn't matter. I can't see any contestant complaining over $2 vs $7 vs $1 vs $9 and instead I see them complaining (if about anything) about losing the Car.

While maximizing the piggy bank isn't always chosen, minimizing it is certainly rare and adds to more of the strange setups this week.

The last time the bank was minimized was back in the middle of Season 37.

For the record, I don't have an issue with the situation vader mentioned.  If the player is smart enough to figure that out, they deserve to win.

Thomas and Elyse are two people both of whom I am glad didn't get into the Showcase.  Thomas was extremely loud and was ridiculously bad at Clock Game, and Elyse just seemed completely phony.

There is no way any normal person was going to win 1 Wrong Price.

What I found more off-putting about that showcase was the graphic for the Colorado trip was a picture of a DESERT. When I think of Colorado, the first images that generally come to mind would be the Rocky Mountains and snow, not sand and the desert.

If I'm thinking correectly, they mentioned something in the description about Great Sand Dunes National Park, which may be why they used that graphic.

I guess three liters of fake cranberry juice IS expensive...  :-o

Fake Cranberry juice?  Unlike other juices, any Cranberry beverage will have something besides cranberry juice in it (as just cranberry would be too tart to drink straight) - sometimes a blend of juices, sometime just added sweetener of some sort.

Also, just a quick note - does anyone else have an issue seeing the HI-LO item prices (they look to be white on yellow background to me)?

I'm chalking that up to a case of, "Holy man, those colors look way worse together than I thought they would," on Adam's part.

I know I don't post a whole lot, but I was at this episode and had so much fun. I took my boyfriend Abraham who ended up on the show and won the Showcase!

His fall when he came on down seemed so much harder and longer in person. There was a lot that was edited out during his interaction with Drew when he got to Contestants' Row regarding if he was OK, etc., and they called a CBS medic that was on duty during the commercial break to check out his knee.

I agree that setup on One Wrong Price was evil. I thought it was an obvious win and told him to pick the accessories.

Anyway, I think it's amazing that he and I have both won the Showcase on the show. If that is not a sign from the Game Show gods that we are meant to be together, I don't know what is! There can't be that many couples out there that have both been on the show, much less have both won the Showcase! I got to go to Fiji on behalf of The Price is Right 15 years ago and now we're headed to Dubai. I can't believe it and can't wait!!

Wait a minute -- you were a contestant?

When were you on?  And why does this man not have a gold star?

Two wishes for Season 42 after seeing this episode:

- Please please increase the range finder just to $250 and make the scale span $1,000 instead of $600.   The ranger finder would still take up 25% of the scale and it just makes a bit more sense given the prizes are often over $10,000.  Remember, the $150 range was used in the early 70s when prizes were often under $1,500.  Make sense?

- The blue Hi-Lo Game just doesn't pop right in front of Door #2 which is also that same blue.  Re-stage or repaint the game or put a screen or giant Goodson Marks behind the game or something to make it pop more.

thanks!

I had a star in the past... not sure what happened to it...

My taping date was 11/11/97 and it aired 1/09/98.

Probably got lost in a site crash or upgrade somewhere along the line.  They're both capable of screwing things up.
