I think you could feel Drew try to get out of the slog of this week as Elyse was so excited and close to the car.

When the 2 surprisingly went to the piggy bank, the metaphorical balloon popped, and June continued on its merry way.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

I guess three liters of fake cranberry juice IS expensive...  :-o

The contestants today seemed a notch or two more obnoxious than usual.  I was rooting for Lakisha, but she couldn't pull it out in the Showcase.

And our hunt for the next three-car day continues...

When the "Start Your Engines" showcase consists of a ~$5,000 ATV and two trips, you're doing it wrong.
Torgo has left the building. John and I never really cared for the way he presented himself.

On Clock Game........All I can say is that Thomas should've known the differences on how to play the game and how not to play the game. Well, it could've been worse........ And that's just one example.

Elyse's Press Your Luck reference was a bit of a "ha-ha" moment, but nothing too memorable. Guess she could convince Doc Brown to build another Delorean and she go back to 1983, or Rufus with the phone booth.  :P

However, Any Number was another example this week of a hope of a car game win being dashed to bits. I was assuming that Elyse would pick 2 for the last number of the car, she would've got it. How wrong was I. (sarcastically) Nice job the with piggy bank, Mike.......

Can anyone explain to me how a "Start Your Engines" Showcase where a car is replaced with a ATV and would have validity, much less make a lick of sense? A real miss on that one.

Once again, another 2/6 Mike-approved show. We might as well get tomorrow (Graduation special) out of the way, so Mike's Hell Week will be finished.......Well, one of them, anyway.

Mehh. I agree that Any Number came THIS close to providing a spark to this week, but nope. This was at least a very unusual and interesting lineup, but it got started off on a terrible foot with that Clock playing and never really recovered.

Any "start your engines" showcase should have a car in it. They should really know this by now....

Timings:
Clock Game (4.5) - 4:52
Range Game (4) - 3:38
Hi Lo (5) - 5:08
Safe Crackers (4.5) - 4:01
One Wrong Price (3.5) - 3:01
Any Number (5) - 5:33
Total (26.5): 26:13

Nice wins on Hi Lo & Safe Crackers! :-)  Not too good other than that.

That was something how the Hyundai Elantra on Range Game was $18,000-something & yet when the Hyundai Elantra is in a showcase, the ARP of the showcase is only $21,000-something.

Here's hoping for a car game win on tomorrow's Graduation special to prevent a car game shut-out.

I wonder if the car-less "Start Your Engines" showcase was a deliberate attempt to be unpredictable. You hear the words and you automatically assume there's going to be a car in there somewhere. What I found more off-putting about that showcase was the graphic for the Colorado trip was a picture of a DESERT. When I think of Colorado, the first images that generally come to mind would be the Rocky Mountains and snow, not sand and the desert. What made matters worse was the second trip to Dubai was also desert-themed. Kind of overkill... the entire showcase was just bad, really.

Probably one of the worst playings of Clock Game I've seen. He seemed to maybe have a good grasp on how to play the game, but, it didn't work out so well.

Range Game for a car is always pretty tricky and this was no exception.

Nice playing of Hi Lo. Knowing Drew's habit of smashing the grocery items, I figured this could have gone a lot worse with whipped cream and Febreeze getting sprayed everywhere, so, at least he kept his product mangling to a minimum.

Safe Crackers was a solid win. The designer luggage could just as easily have been $980.

One Wrong Price was pretty mean... those $600 accessories were just begging to be picked. They didn't want this one won.

Tough loss in Any Number... she really wanted that car, but, her "excitement" was starting to look a little put-on after awhile.

Good thing Thomas won the cookware at almost the last second; otherwise there'd have been a wipeout.  One Wrong Price was tricky having a low priced item have the right price.  Any Number was evil.  What the hell was a 2 doing as the 1st number in the piggy bank when there was a 7 and 8 in there as well?  If this was a playing in the 70's when both the game and show were fairly new and people didn't make as much money at the time then you could understand that; but this isn't the 70's anymore.

I get what you're saying, but honestly, does it really matter? Five or six extra dollars in the piggy bank isn't going to make the sting of losing a nice grill or a car feel any better. :P

I see both yours and plinkoboard's points. I posted a while back about maximizing the amount of money in the piggy bank, which, if always done, would make the game more predictable. However, in this case, if you won the money in the piggy bank, what would you rather have: two dollars something or seven dollars something? If I left with two when I could have had seven or eight, I would feel like someone was really being cheap. That is, after I got over the sting of losing the car and the other prize.  ;)

Just one other thing: It had been a long time since I'd seen someone with so little time to win the second prize (and hence the bonus prize and the $1000) in Clock Game.

Yeah yeah, Clock Game was bad, but....

Range Game for a Car!! And it wasn't too evil! It was however, a very painful loss which is sad to see.

RE: Piggy Bankgate

Is the average contestant really going to care if its $8 $2 $7 or $20 in the Piggy Bank if they lost the $20,000 Car by 1 number? Not hardly.

It could also lead to situations where you know what the number in the Piggy Bank is and thus, can easily win the car. For example:

CAR: $20,35_
PRIZE: $_49
PIGGY: $_.72

Remaining: 1, 6, 8

You already know the Piggy Bank has to be $8.72 since it has to be maxed out, and from deductive reasoning you can assume the car must be $20,351 because the Prize won't be $149.
