Nice $10,000 win in Punchy, and $1,000 on the wheel.

Stack The Deck...ewww.

And Check Game is back, nice to see it. I'm glad they kept the game elements intact, and I do like the new number display.

Speaking of elements...interesting Cover theme. When you consider what goes into the making of a car, the elements symbolized do fit.
2nd place, 2011 CSS playoffs.     QSW, 3/27/17, 1/15/18. Exacta, 5/14/21.

Given the eggcrate was guaranteed to be gone from Check, I think they actually did a very good job otherwise with the LEDs (particularly the font). The new title kinda looks... skimpy, though? Since it's just thin-layered letters. But again, the font is very good. Not sure why they love changing the LED backgrounds on a win/loss though, that was kinda meh.

Otherwise... standard June show minus Punch where hopefully one of those very good punches will be 25k soon, yayseeyoutomorrow.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Well, Check Game came back...........only to be loss. Four years of waiting for nothing...................Nice one, Mike.  However, the setting was pretty cool, along with the logo. I hope to see more of it in the upcoming season.

Yet another close but no cigar playing of CU........Maybe Juan should switch to decaf IMHO. Even though the periodic table theme seemed to make sense, they should just stick back to the wrong numbers.

Not surprisingly, another Stack wipeout.......Next.

Plus, how lazy and boring can today's Showcases get? A real miss on both of those today.

At least ME, M#, and $10K on Punch were won...............Nevertheless, pretty average.

Cover Up: Being kind of a nerd in general, I'm ok with the chemical elements today. Sort of wish they could have spelled COVER or CAREY, I think it was said in chat you could even get COVER UP. Also, Juan was...interesting. Found it amusing even now that he wore a "Keep Calm" shirt.
Most Expensive: Seemed set up for a win, and it was. Not much to say there.
Punch A Bunch: I wonder if Drew gave a hint there that big money is near a corner, or is it just coincidence. Either way, very nice 10k there.
THERE'S Check Game: Very nice. What is it with the prop that people were saying looked different near the top? Because I didn't notice anything there. Pretty similar look as before, just with monitors now. I'm sort of glad that they don't have to write the amount in words now, I always found that portion superflous to be honest. As for the game itself, close losses? Yep, back to normal it seems.
Stack The Deck: Remember when I said in a thread awhile back that this is the game I'd retire? Today is probably why. I'm not even sure she would have won even if she played it perfectly with those choices of the second number.
Magic Number: That's one of the lower numbers for the first prize that I've seen in awhile. Still, I find it pretty well played when the number is pretty close to one of the prices, and it was. And ANOTHER Keep Calm shirt, though she actually was.
Showcases: I find it interesting that the one I think is going to be under 20k isn't, though I can't figure out what was inflated (perhaps Hawaii). Pretty close differences too, haven't seen that in awhile.

All and all, I'd say not bad for a 1/6 show.
Yeah...let's make this current shall we?

Can we just go back to covering up the wrong price in Cover Up?

Also, did anyone notice that there is actually a replica of the upper 1/4 of the turntable wall attached to the new Check Game? If you pause the tape while Check Game spins around, you can see rods attached to the lettering from the replica of the turntable wall attached to the top of Check Game.

Speaking of Check Game, it was nice to see it back and nice to see it played by an observant contestant! She stated, "I haven't seen this game in YEARS!" I would even go to say Rita is a LFAT. So sad to see it lost though, and sad especially as she probably changed her mind based on the audience as she said she wanted to write the check for $1500.

Sorry to see the loss in Stack the Deck. I believe the GP setups were evil.

Love during the credits when that message popped up , that there was a edit that didn't affect the outcome of the game, not the show. Wonder what happened to cause that message to appear?

It was actually a 2/6 show (ME and M# were won and a Punch bailout). Plus, you're right about the way Juan was acting while ironically wearing that "Keep Calm" shirt.

If chat today was any indication, I must be the only one who is not a fan of the "new" Check (Cheque?) Game.  The title looks ugly and unfinished, as does the price tag.  The monitors are "bleh" as well.  And before anyone gets on at me for this, I understand that they needed to shave down the top because of the way the new home base is built.  But they couldn't mount the "CHECK $ GAME" logo on a piece of dark wood as thick as the prop above the board?

On another note, I am a fan of the Cover Up couch gag.  It brings some life to an otherwise pedestrian game.

I didn't think that Check Game went beyond the top of the new wall when it was played in season 36 or 37. The obtrusive arch above the turntable should not have interfered with Check Game.

I am amused how quickly you're jumping on someone else's mistakes.

The only thing I have to say about the show - I stated my Check Game thoughts in its thread - is this...

Heeeeere they come...

I think something different could have been done to the top of the prop other than "floating letters", but the game still looks slick. The gold accents really make it pop.

You can kinda see the rods attached to the top of the TT there... that is kind of a radical direction to go with the title, wonder why they did it given that besides eggcrates, were pleasurably conservative elsewhere?

Actually it's not the turntable, just a false wall attached to the top of the game that looks exactly like the TT wall.
