My two cents:

Cliff Hangers: I thought he blew it on the portable oven. But when the Yodely Guy stopped on 15, I had a good feeling. Bully for Eriq! Especially for winning the Showcase later on!
Lucky Seven: Great to see a win in this game, especially when a Chevrolet Camaro is at stake!
Pick a Number: I knew that middle number in the price of the wave runner was 3. Too bad Robyn didn't.
Shopping Spree: The moment I saw the price of the elliptical trainer, I knew Michael lost.
Gas Money: Another playing in which the cheap multiple of 5 was the pink slip price for the car. Its first playing of the season, and already it get its first wipeout.
Check Game: It's great to see it again. But that was very painful, losing by only $125! I would've gone $2,500.

They seriously need to get rid of Gas Money. It's my least favorite game and for a good reason. It's because of playings like that. Way too many wipeouts. So frustrating. This game really needs to go.

Haven't actually seen the episode yet, but to me, Gas Money looked kind of easy, just because of the price. A price like that that is $XX,000 really stands out to me as a "don't pick this because it is the price".

Plus, I know it's not necessarily common knowledge, but after an entire season of Wheel of Fortune offering the Kia Soul as the prize for two 1/2 Car cards, it got stuck in my head pretty quickly that they are cheaper cars (I remember them being announced as usually somewhere between $15,000 and $16,000 on the show).
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

That was the best playing of Lucky Seven I had seen in quite some time.

Also, it was good to see four pricing games make their debuts for the season.
Torgo has left the building. John and I never really cared for the way he presented himself.

After a week with first half shenanigans like exceptionally difficult setups, a brutal Grand Game, and an ill-advised appearance of It's In The Bag first, it was strange to see them do a 180 and put an easy Cliffhangers first. I wasn't expecting that. Lucky Seven also didn't have an obscene number of 1s, 9s, and the like, so it was quite winnable, as well. Unfortunately, those first two games accounted for the only two wins today, so all of the action was in the first half--quite a reversal of the norm the show was shooting for earlier.

The showcase winner came out quite well with a trip, $20,000, a showcase including a car, and some other knick-knacks. I imagine the $20,000 will cover any taxes. I figured he'd win after seeing that other low-ball :frbs: bid. I offer him my congratulations.

As an aside, it also looks like the website text is experiencing growth spurts. Yesterday, it was unusually small.

At least we got the gimmicky part out of the way from the first game:

THE BAD NEWS:

Pick-A-Number: I'm sure a good majority, including myself, knew that the missing number of the Waverunner was 3. Too bad Robyn thought otherwise.

Shopping Spree: After Michael picked the trainer as his 2nd choice, it was already over.

Gas Money: Once again, another contestant picking the cheapest price, which result in another wipeout. Although, it was pretty rare to have a price for a Kia Soul to be $17,000.

Check Game: Perhaps Garry should've taken $200 off his guess, then he would've won.

THE GOOD NEWS:

Lucky $even: Great job by Amalia! The "Kiss Of Death" (Camaro) got kissed off!

Cliffhangers: Awesome win by Eriq and got the $20K! Great SC win, as well!!

THE BOTTOM LINE:

After Cliffy and L7, the rest of today was kinda like chewing gum..........It was quickly starting to lose flavor. However, thanks to Eriq, Drew didn't have to shove that gimmick down our throats.............At least for now, anyway (We still have tomorrow, so we don't know what could happen). Hopefully, tomorrow can end this week on a high note.

C-H: That's the way to get started!

L7: Amalia better thank her friends/family for giving her the right guesses to win that Camaro!

PaN: Not much hope the 3 would be chosen.

SS: Should've been won, IMO.

GM: Also winnable in my book, but that's not saying much (I can see why an even correct price would throw off people).

Check: Drew, you jinxed the rest of the PGs after the first segment.

Showcases: As soon as both bids were locked in, I knew Eriq had it all the way! I don't think it was George who re-presented him w/ his $20K check this time (probably one of the models, but we didn't see that).

Excluding the middle, this was a good show today.

Cliff Hangers...pretty typical win. I was a little surprised to see it played first, but maybe Mike didn't want Drew saying "$20,000" the entire show, so he decided to get it out of the way early...

Great Fantastic playing of Lucky $even today, no doubt about that! Great win!

Pick-A-Number was, well, Pick-A-Number. Can't say it was a difficult setup, as I guessed 3.

Shopping Spree should have been won.

That $17,000 just seemed too obvious to me in Gas Money.

They seriously need to get rid of Gas Money. It's my least favorite game and for a good reason. It's because of playings like that. Way too many wipeouts. So frustrating. This game really needs to go.

I can think of several games that are worse than Gas Money in terms of wipe outs. There is a bailout option, you know... :-?

Hey, Check Game! Too bad it was lost...

Pretty decent show, overall. I'm a little disappointed that 2/6 was the end result, but it happens. Nice to see Eriq win all that loot at the end of the day!
Pardon my language, but I do believe we all need to calm the f*** down.

Another quality win on TPIR. Yesterday, it happened on the Money Game, and today on Cliffhangers.

Eriq played very well on Cliffhangers, and now with the $20,000 bonus, he can move to Cancun.

I'm sure somewhere in the Alps his family is saying "Thank you for keeping Hans in one piece!"

Cliff Hangers is a great game for getting that $20,000 awarded.

Maybe it was so-obvious-it-had-to-be-right for the hardcore fans, but I'm sorry... that Gas Money setup was a huge insult to any contestant that would have played that game. Either all of the prices needed to be even multiples of $1,000 (similar example from last season) or an option needed to be added to the car to get rid of a couple of those zeros in the price.

Scott, do you know if the show ever sets up longer games for a quick loss to try and save time/have a better game lineup?
For example, If Gas Money is setup to be (most likely) a quick loss instead of a full playing, will longer games be played that day to create a more pleasing set list of games?

Nice wins on Cliff Hangers & Lucky Seven & nice to see the car showcase won! :-)  Other than that, (blows raspberry)!

Boy, was Gas Money Evil today! :oldevil:

IMO, revealing the ARP of Eriq's showcase first killed the suspense.

Not too bad overall, IMHO.

Good start to the show with that solid Cliff Hangers win, but, my enthusiasm for today's show quickly went south.

I don't think I've ever disliked George's presence on the show more than I did today when he was singing (badly) the introduction of the car in Lucky $even. Good thing Rich was fired to make way for material like that. Also, third time in three weeks we've seen this game thanks to the shuffled airdates. At least the saving grace of the segment was the victory through that rotten price of $24,839; was very happy to see her win in spite of that.

Pick-a-Number... is.... well, Pick-a-Number. The 3 looked right.

Shopping Spree was a disappointment, not just because it was lost but because the four prizes were ones we've seen over and over again. Doesn't this show give away furniture or dinette sets anymore?

Gas Money was utterly disappointing. $17,000 was just screaming suspicious and I disapprove of setting the car up to be a round number like that. When was the last time a car had three zeros in the price like that? Drew's explanation of the game was getting to be a little long-winded, as well, to the point where I was concerned she was going to end up confused.

Check Game is always fun to see. The bad part was it was played for a trip. By itself, that wouldn't necessarily be so bad except for the part where Cliff Hangers was played for a trip as well. Is it too much to ask to have some more diverse prizes being offered?

Which brings us to the showcases, two more trips offered, boats and cars. Same old song. Like yesterday, at least three prizes were offered each, but, trip overkill on today's show with no less than four trips being offered. It's almost laughable that five years ago the show was boasting about how they have much better prizes than were previously offered and now all the prevailing prizes on the show are trips, electronics, designer materials, cars and cash. I miss the bedroom groups, I miss the living rooms, I miss the appliances, I miss the old prizes!
