Interesting TPIR Trivia Question
« on: May 25, 2006, 05:02:01 PM »
Here's one for you, this may or may not be easy.

Which game was the only game to NOT have The Price is Right theme play after the game (or highest prize in the game, uh oh, is that a hint..) was won?

For this board I think it's pretty easy.  I figure this could be a learning process, because if the game I am thinking of isn't the only one, I would like to know the others!!

P.S. I figured since this was a trivia it belong in this forum, but if any of the mods think it would fit better in another forum, please move it. Thanks.

From your description, you must be thinking of the Big Wheel and the Showcase Showdown.  However, the Big Wheel isn't a game.

How about Squeeze Play from the 30th Anniversary Special when the Juke Box music was played following the win?

Apparently this was tougher than I thought it was going to be, but THE PHONE HOME GAME is correct!!  The intro to the game(when the models rolled out the diploma with $15,000 on it) was played whenever the game or at least $10,000 was won.  The Price Is Right theme played afterwards usually while Johnny Olson or Rod Roddy read the plug for how to be a part of The Phone Home Game.

So does that mean that the theme didn't play when the game was actually won, or just on other occasions when $10,000 was found?

What happened was when the $10K award was found the intro music played and the basically normal standard TPIR $10,000 win fanfare(Big bell clang and the whoop whoop whoop sounds) were played.  Then the contestant and the home player would talk to each other again on the phone, then Bob would talk to the home player and THEN The Price is Right theme after Bob said his goodbyes to the contestant and the home player, then Johnny or Rod would read the The Phome Home Game Player plug.
