Having watched the episode, I can't really come to any obvious conclusion as to why this episode was postponed.

EFFING LINE
Torgo has left the building. John and I never really cared for the way he presented himself.

Why did they have to postpone a DSW?

The only reason I think they held back from showing this show , The TSA shooting in LAX. When the contestant mentioned they worked for them , that's probably why it got preempted.

I agree, it makes sense.

Squeeze: Not close.

PC: Thanks to that 0 not giving Richard too much trouble, he won even though he was so close to nailing the 1 at the end!

Bonus: Not too difficult.

C-O: Don't always give up hope in this game.

DP: I would've lost this one.

LeU: Carl did himself no favors by getting the 7 right on the first try.

Showcases: Scott's DSW was the most impressive one I've seen since Racheal's DSW on 11/28/11 (when she added $250 to her $24K bid)!

We've been having a stretch of great shows recently- let's try to keep it going next week!

What a great episode! A good aggressive lineup with lots of rare games (can't have that everyday, but makes days like this special) and great results including a DSW on a show where they really didn't want very much won. I mean, consider that we got past a 20981 ugly car price with a fake -5, a $55 dinky blender and a $1.29 thing of FOUR apple juices (one of my least favorite GPs) in the same day. Pretty special, and then we added a DSW to top it all off. More and more people are ending their bids in odd numbers that aren't -000. I doubt it's because people are actually catching on, but you never know, something is up. Might be time for them to rethink this whole ARP thing. I think the setups were generally more difficult today because they fancied themselves a 3 Strikes win revenge episode, but now, that didn't really work out that well, did it? :)

I really can't explain why Line 'em Up got played today. I mean, Line getting played over Any means Any skipped THREE weeks in a row. Likewise, Bonus coming out of nowhere means Cliff skipped 3 weeks in a row. Not exactly complaining about either of these things, just surprising. Cliff could really use a rest this year after the severe overkill last year and, of course, Bonus took half the season off last year, so I'm good with seeing it a little extra (although it might have been put in today to cause a loss).

Despite The Pointer (Lawrence) being on the show, today was pretty good.

THE BAD NEWS:

LEU: That price of the Fiesta was pretty predictable ($17,463) and I got that right on the nose.

Squeeze Play: Too bad Scott didn't get the Africa trip. At least he got this:  :dsw:  :-D

THE GOOD NEWS:

Pocket Change: Had to watch that online since my cable cut me off (Lousy timing)............Great win by Richard!

Double Prices: That was a easy win by Vicki!

Bonus Game: Luck was on Claudia's side............Good thing she didn't loss on the blender.

Check-Out: Same for Susan. I was afraid that the pasta sauce would do her in.

THE BOTTOM LINE:

We had a TPIR sandwich today:

[bread]LWWWWL[bread]
              [meat]

Awesome contestants and wins today!

The only reason I think they held back from showing this show , The TSA shooting in LAX. When the contestant mentioned they worked for them , that's probably why it got preempted.
Oh..........I see. And all this time, I thought it had to do with a certain Canadian mayor using a certain type of drug since that Canada trip was presented. But he's from Toronto and the trip that was being played for was to Vancouver.

I agree, it makes sense.

Lawrence, you've made your point. Time to go away.
Emphasis on "point".

Squeeze Play: Too bad it wasn't won. That was a nice prize.

Pocket Change: 5 was a pretty *redacted* guess for the 2nd number in the price of the car. But great recovery to get the 3rd and 4th numbers right both on the 1st guess. Great luck with the cards and a great win!

Bonus Game: This is a great game. Good win today.

Check out,: One of my favorite games. I knew $4 was too high for the sauce but overall I thought it had a 50/50 shot of being won.  Another good win.

Double Prices: Actually a tough setup today  Nice win.

Line em Up.: Too bad.

Showcases: DSWs are always awesome. To not even win your game and come away with $58,000 is a great day in the showcase round indeed.
Good show today.

For the love of God and all things holy, find another word. The "r" word is derogatory and offensive.

Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

Since I was home today, I watched to see if I could figure out the reason for the preemption. I also came up with the TSA contestant as my best guess.

I see what everybody's talking about with Lawrence Saint-Victor.

I thought Check-Out was winnable. Seems like most people would underprice the throat drops and lotion while overpricing the apple juice and pasta sauce, thereby balancing out for a win. I thought Susan was in trouble when she said $4.00 for the pasta sauce followed by a reasonable bid on the lotion.

I noticed that the Line 'Em Up board had numbers in the price of the car at the beginning of the game, which may or may not have thrown off the contestant (not that it probably mattered in the end). Was that a one-time mistake, or is that how the game begins now? It seemed to throw Drew a little bit when he was demonstrating how to slide the first prize's price and went to reset it.

Like Scott, I also noticed that the first numbers were already "lined up" in Line 'em Up.  I haven't noticed that happening before.  I think that this actually makes the game more difficult.  I don't mean that in a mathematical sense, but in a psychological sense.  I think players are far less likely to leave the first guesses as the numbers that are already in place, and I notice that the player did exactly that:  he changed every one.  I think that this put him at a disadvantage.

I learned today that Lawrence is a lot more enjoyable as a model if you (a) place bets on the order of him pointing, pounding, or waving his fist in the air, and (b) narrate out loud what he's doing ("point! point! point!").
