CSS Results for 02/10/2014 (Game 90)

Today is notable for two very different reasons.

First, GoldenBulldog came just $1 away from the first Exacta of the season. Just $1. Unfortunately, when your bid is $25,300 and the ARP is $25,299, that $1 results in the most painful WSD known to man. Sorry buddy, that just hurts.

Not all is lost, though...we actually do have our first Exacta of the season! Kev347 nails the price of the Scion TC right on the money, bidding $25,299, and getting the rights associated with it. The bad news, though, is that he blew it with a Heels on the random boat, so the rights associated with that Exacta are nothing. Nothing at all. At least, thanks to the changes in the rules for this season, he only missed out on 2x points, but he still missed out on a boatload of cash.

Schfifty and wildbill0962 do manage to DSW and score, though, so it's not all bad news. Schfifty has the overall win and cash for the random boat, while wildbill0962 has the better DSW on the Scion.

Is the February curse finally hitting?

"Nobody cares about the guest stars." - Roger Dobkowitz

"Change isn't always good. Sometimes changing things is a terrible mistake." - Bob Barker

People are tired of the f**kery and drama, but if we'd actually talk to each other sometimes instead of a whole bunch of private conversations with other people, it'd go a long way to perhaps fixing the problems most seem to see in the site.

HEY! I didn't garfed on a boat this time!  :-D

I guess the fourth time was the charm. I still could've done a little better on that, though.

Well I was feeling bad about my overbid until I saw this

Methinks I need to start shaving a couple thousand off my bids.

How does one exacta a showcase with a trip in it?
"Our dilemma is that we hate change and love it at the same time; what we really want is for things to remain the same but get better." - Sydney J. Harris

“For the premiere of season 30, CBS wanted to do a special primetime show. However, they asked that we also add a gimmick or a twist to make it truly special. I came up with the suggestion of taking the show on the road for the first time in its history." - Roger Dobkowitz

Another case of the "It's February!" theory? ;)

OK, complete explanation: So I know (or assume, watch me be wrong) that the 32 GB iPod touches in that first showcase today were $299 each. So I added everything up and I frequently will bid xx2xx and decided today I wanted to bid 252xx. I usually don't go as high as $299, but I got the amusing idea in my head that they only offered a second iPod touch as a DSW avoider to get it out of the 000-250 range. So I bid -299. And then pain because I overdid Miami. *sigh*
