I'm... not quite sure what to make of Drew giving a quick, surprising "BOO" to Louise before playing Bullseye. It's great to see Drew trying to interact with the contestants in his own way, but I'm sure Louise's nerves would say otherwise. Nice to see a win here, even if it's via a hidden bullseye hidden in a box of animal crackers. Now, though, we have to watch out for that $1.99 bag of resealable olives.

It appears that the Line 'em Up guess/price reveal discussed here is now standard procedure--it was used on both of today's wrong guesses, as well as the 1/29/2014 exacta.

Plinko: That juicer fooled both me and Danyelle.  But I'm happy she got a nice haul out of this one.

One Right Price: If you are going to lose, let it be this way.  Even though Ina was wrong, I do appreciate her losing on her gut.  Although I picked the washer and dryer.

That's Too Much:  THAT'S TWO SOON!!!!    I had a feeling David should have gone a little further.  Not that I did any better, I thought price 6 was too much.

Bullseye: The only win of today.   I thought 3 pineapple juices might have done the trick.  But I like that the hidden bullseye was behind the animal crackers.

Freeze Frame: $2891 for a trip to Chicago?   Yeah...in 1980 or 1990.

Line Em Up: My mind said $17,340....it was a guess though.

Showcases: I thought Danyelle was over.  I underestimated her bid.  Poor Joanne.  OUCH.  $236 OVER.  I thought she was in the ballpark there.

I thought for sure we were headed for a DOB. I was pleasantly surprised when we only got one.

Maybe Drew should give a reminder the contestant that once you pull in Freeze Frame you can't get it going again. Because this at least the second time where I think she pulled thinking she would get feedback from the crowd.

I think it's time we play a little game called "One Of These Things........"

(Cue theme song)

So which thing doesn't belong in the Nashville themed Showcase?

1. Trip to Nashville

2. Outdoor Kitchen

3. Chevrolet Spark

Highlight for the answer:

The answer is #3 - The Spark. Seriously, I really don't think I see too many cowboys driving a compact car...........Much less, a Spark. What should've been presented instead was a truck, preferably a F-150, or a Dodge Ram IMHO. The ball was dropped on that one.

Plus, Drew once again said the infamous "This is a tough game......." on TTM............but he also said "............but people win it most of the time."

Plus, I find a bit funny that the nuts would be right on ORP, when it comes to both the W/D and computer. Once Ina ignored them and picked the computer instead, that led to near silence. Then again, it wasn't that hard of a setup to begin with.

Oh well, a decent haul on Plinko and the only solid win on Bullseye......That was OK.

THE BOTTOM LINE:

Below average start of this week..........And that's pretty much it.

Drew's done that before; I'll say I'm not a fan of him doing so. Then he laughs at his own behavior. I would try to be more comforting; I think Bob would do the same. Nice lucky second-chance win in Bullseye regardless.

However, Drew and I do think alike occasionally. I wouldn't have said it on the air like he did, but the country theme of the first showcase became more and more of a stretch as it went on. Nashville trip? Great start. Outdoor kitchen (for cooking BBQ)? Okaaay. (I could hear Drew laughing.) Chevy Spark (for meandering down country roads [and hopefully not getting stuck])?? I don't think so.

Who wrote that? At least end with a truck??  [PriceBusterXL and I were thinking alike and typing at the same time.] :)

Plinko: 11,500 is a good hall in Plinko and the 42 inch Panasonic TV was a fantastic contestant's row prize. BTW: Why not have George say Panasonic in the prize copy. We could clearly read it watching at home.

1 Right Price: Tricky setup. I would have won this as I thought it looked like a washer/dryer price. Too bad. Those were both nice prizes.

That's Too Much: That Hyundai Sonota was a tough car to win in this game. I thought today's contestant had stopped too soon. I was sure it was over $20000 but I would have lost by stopping 1 price too soon. Also I'm REALLY sick of the"This is a hard game." speech on EVERY playing.

Bullseye: Lucky win of a nice prize. The whole animal crackers thing was kinda fun.

Freeze Frame: I would have won this but I'm not gonna say it  should've been won. There were 4 reasonable possibilities. However today's contestant is an idiot to think that Chicago trip could be under $3000.

Line em Up: I knew the $17 range was right but this is a hard game due to the 10s digit. Too bad to end the day with a loss.

Showcases: The Chevrolet Spark showcase that was won was the better showcase.

Overall: Neither 1 of the best nor 1 of the worst 2 for 6 shows. We did see a car showcase won and have a decent amount on Plinko. And the Bullseye segment was fun. But no cars were won in the pricing games and nothing too memorable or exciting happened.
« Last Edit: February 17, 2014, 03:48:51 PM by moneygamelover »
Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

He actually said people win it from time to time. It's still annoying, but at least it's not nonsense that way.

As for the Nashville showcase... the poorly-written segué to a car has been a daily occurrence lately. The first two prizes fit together well, and then they shoehorn a car at end and tie it in with a questionable play on words. However, this one stood out because it not only fit that description, but it also could have used about 100 cars that would have fit better than a Spark.

Major props to Adam for fixing the end of the first turn in Line em Up.  It wasn't quite what I'd figured would happen, but it's a definite improvement.

I loved how Louise ended up winning Bullseye with the hidden bullseye on the animal crackers.

Maybe Drew should give a reminder the contestant that once you pull in Freeze Frame you can't get it going again. Because this at least the second time where I think she pulled thinking she would get feedback from the crowd.

If something that stupid happens, then it's the contestant's fault, not Drew's.
