Perfect small-prize pricing in Plinko, and a nice $12,000 win.

Perfect product pricing in Stack (with very reasonable digit choices), and so close to the Journey. (I knew it was $20K and not $23K; being a regular viewer helps.)

I would have stopped with the $9000 in Gas Money. Wait, now I'm not sure. ;)   Has anyone won exactly that amount in the game before?

Excellent showcase bid, Austin. :)

Lawrence is back?!!! Oh well.............

THE BAD NEWS:

Gas Money and Stack The Deck: Nothing but heartbreak from those games.........And funny that Mike would throw a bone to Alexandra with this pretty easy setup on Stack, but make this somewhat hard on Gas.

Balance Game: Just a gimme. Nothing more.

THE NOT-SO-BAD NEWS:

Plinko: A good chunk of money ($12K) for Austin! And a good SC bid!

THE GOOD NEWS:

Freeze Frame: I really got duped on that one today........Good job by Tracy!

ME: Ditto with this one, as well...........Nicely done by Melissa picking the shoes!

THE BOTTOM LINE:

Well, it was a pretty average start of the week..............And the nuts should, at times, keep their opinions to themselves. They were wrong on Stack and they were wrong on Balance, too. I think future contestants should trust on his/her intuitions rather than the audience, because they can be just about as wrong as the contestants are.........If not, more so.

Lawrence is back?!!!
Yep he is. But for how long? (Hopefully not long.) I forgot to mention/discuss him in my previous post.

It seems they are now rotating the models in the junior slot; Rachel being the senior in the other slot. Cost cutting measure?

I doubt that it is a cost cutting measure...........But it seems to me that I thought that around in January, that this would die down and we would go back to regular model rotations.......At least, bring back 3-model shows. How wrong was I? I think Mike might want to try and linger this throughout the rest of the season and maybe then, things will go back to normal.

I mean, I love Rachel more than anything, but I agree with anyone that states that she's the only regular model and the rest of them (Manuela, Gwen, and Amber) are treated like special guest models themselves, which seems pretty off. Hopefully if Mike wants to finish this off for the rest of the season, then fine. I really don't want this to be the norm. At least, not for the next season, for that matter.

Yay! A reasonable playing for Stack the Deck. To be honest, the price could have been $23,000, so it was that or $20,000 … and a painful loss results.

Plinko: $12000 is a good haul! Nice start to the week.

Freeze Frame: I had no gut feel for this. Nice to see a nice trip won.

Stack the Deck: Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! Today's contestant played the GP portion perfectly made the correct selections for free digits and the 1 being the 5th digit in effect gave the 1st digit away. That meant it came down to the 2nd digit and both Drew and today's contestant were keenly aware that it wasn't going to be an 8. This came down to a 50-50 shot and it's super painful that the Dodge Journey wasn't won.

Most Expense: I'd have lost this picking the motorcycle. This was a good win. The shoes aren't my favorite prize but that Sony laptop was nice.

Gas Money: It's ashamed the Honda Civic wasn't won. Honestly though I'd have bailed at $9000. If I were at $9000 and the 2 remaining price possibilities were less than $1000 apart I'd take the $9000 and run.

Balance Game: Go with your 1st instinct. Your 1st instinct is usually right. Contestants should go with own giut feelings over the peanut gallery or any individual member thereof.

Showcases: The Scion XB showcase was the better showcase and today's winning contestant had an awesome bid.

Overall: With both car games lost this wasn't 1 of our better 2 for 6 shows but the $12000 on Plinko and a car showcase being won means it wasn't 1 of our worst 2 for 6 shows either.  A pretty average show.
Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

My two cents:

Plinko: What a win! Highlight of the day. And Austin also won a Scion in his Showcase! (although the Showcase with the cruise was the superior one; the Scion Showcase was not)
Freeze Frame: Good win.
Stack the Deck: Another playing in which the contestant is only one number shy of victory. She almost had that Journey! And she had all GPs right, as well!
Most Expensive: Another good win.
Gas Money: Another painful loss today!
Balance Game: Tough break.

Overall, not a bad way to kick off the week. And welcome back, Lawrence (for now).
