I'd call a $2500 win in Punch-A-Bunch a nice one. But Drew, are you sure Vivian came here to win $2500?

I would have won the car in Money Game; and I would have chosen "10" first. :)

Great Push Over win!

10 Chances! One of my favorite games! Unfortunately, the contestant just used too many of her chances on the tablet and music player (and maybe one too many on the iron).

One more thing... "Socially Awesome" week on Price next week? Why? Just why? And I don't want to sound negative, but did someone between the ages of maybe 8 and 14 think of that name? *shakes head*

I just don't get why people have such a hard time with Magic #.  Did Connie really think that scooter was less than 1169? Oh man, that was frustrating.  I would have won that with my number of 2750 and that trip to SF was easily at least 3,000 bucks.

Nice to see El Cheapo still relevant in money game (too bad Elisabeth didn't choose it) and Push Over won.

I felt like the trip showcase was the better one and I'm glad to see it was won.

Overall, the show was still a downer with only one pricing game win.

You know, there was a topic regarding what pricing games I wish that were retired for good and one of my choices were Magic #. I never did gave a good enough reason as to why I don't like much until now. It's basically a broken record when it comes to that game, where contestants become so cheap on the two prizes..........And Connie was just another statistic, unfortunately. I'm still trying to grasp the point where she thought that the scooter was less than 1169. SMH

THE BOTTOM LINE:

Just one solid win on Pushy and a car washout today...........Just another one of "those" shows, to be honest with you. At least, Drew acknowledged El Cheapo on Money.........Shame that Elizabeth didn't, though.

Only 1 pricing game won today.

Will the $25,000 Punchboard slip ever be discovered unless they tweak the rules by adding an extra slip (I am doing a separate thread on this)?

I liked how Drew mentioned that loyal viewers knew that El Cheapo had the back end of the car.  It shows that the show is in on its tricks to certain games.

I'm amazed that Push Over was won.  Usually, a loaded prize package like that would belong in a fee game like Grocery Game or Bullseye.

Erica was off to a good start in 10 Chances, but she really hurt herself when she made the $605 guess on the electronics.  But I'll say I have never seen the audience so involved in this game before in a while; you could hear them shouting what numbers to put down, and in what order.  It's a shame that she couldn't try the $17,000's combinations for the Yaris.

The first showcase was a throwback to one recurring skit in the 1990's: Rod would announce a prize with buttons, the cameras would focus on the models pushing them, they then zoomed out to reveal the prize for the home audience.  However, in those showcases, the big payoff was, as Rod put it, "Lowering the top on your brand new convertible!"  Here, we just have a Nissan Sentra.  I know "a prize, is a prize, is a prize," but some prizes are more appropriate than others when it comes to showcase themes.
"Cherish the past, accept the present, and anticipate the future.  They are listening to feedback wherever feasible, but they can't repeat the past."

I just don't get why people have such a hard time with Magic #.

I can say from being in studio taking to someone who played Magic #, she thought she had to figure out what the difference between the two prizes was and make that the Magic #.

While we all know the rules to the games back to front and upside down, the reality is that a lot of casual watchers will honestly have no idea how to play some of the games, even after having it explained to them. And I'm not just talking about on the set, with the cameras and the pressure of being on The Price is Right there, I'm talking about just explaining the rules to some of the games to someone in a casual setting, some people just don't have the mind to instantly understand the rules of unfamiliar games with one explanation.

Magic #! That's the game I forgot to bring up in the retire-a-game thread. It's so incredibly broken, we have to set it with $3,000 ranges and people still lose.

Punch a Bunch: $2500 is alrught in Punchy.

One Wrong Price: The TV was the prize that seemed most like the right price. That was a nice prize even if the designer handbags aren't my favorite prize. Too bad it was lost.

Money Game: Ashamed the Volkswagen Jetta Wasn't won. I knew 17 was right for the 1st 2 digits because of Volkswagen Jetta in Card Game yesterday. (A few hundred $ more due to a few more options.) Independently of that I would have this even if I'd needed 3 tries to get the 1st 2 digits because I knew when I saw that 10 on the board we had an EL Cheapo on our hands.

Pushover: Easy win of a nice dining room. Only $8612 and $7861 looked reasonable and we know that at least 1 block must be pushed to make the price right.

Ten Chances: It's unfortunate the Toyota Yaris wasn't won but the Apple iPad Air and Apple iPod Nano was tough. Most of today's contestant's guesses seemed reasonable. That could have gone any number of ways. At least the nice Apple products were won.

Magic Number: The problem is that too many contestants fail to grasp that in many cases you can raise the Magic Number quite a bit and have plenty of leeway on the more expensive prize. Today's contestant clearly had set the price way too low as the Honda Motorscooter was clearly going to be more than $1169. For what it's worth I would have set the Magic Number at $3000. Both prizes, esspecially the San Francisco trip were nice prizes. Bummer to end it like that.

Showcases: The Nissan Sentra showcase was the better showcase and it's too bad it wasn't won. The trips showcase was still good though. Definitely better destinations than we saw in yesterday's showcases.

Lineup: Strong: 10 Chances and Money Game are great car games and Pushover is a fantastic 1 prize game. Punch a Bunch is a fun lead off hitter and Magic Number is a fun closer. I'm not a One Wrong Price fan but this was a strong overall lineup.

Overall: Obviously a 1 for 6 show is not a good show. But a strong lineup, the $2500 on Punchy and the Apple products on 10 chances prevented from being the bad show that a 1 for 6 er normally is. Average show.
Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

Is it just me, or did they edit out Elisabeth picking 17 in Money Game?

She did pick 17, but she just casually threw it into the sentence she said after 18 was revealed to be incorrect: "This is what you get for listening to the audience. 17." [Drew says something here] "I know, what am I thinking?" So she did pick it, but it just went by very fast.
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

I believe what Drew said was somthing about the fact that her shirt said she was always right, so why was she asking the audience (or something like that).
