On this Fourth of July, 2014, I'd like to say thanks to my cousin, Ryan, a member of the United States Army who is now serving as an instructor at the United States Military Academy at West Point off NY 293 in West Point, New York for his service to our nation.

If anyone else would like to dedicate a post to a family member who is in the military, please do if you wish. Also, this is the last show until August 15, 2014, which is the Back to School Special, see ya then.

So many winners today! So much given away!

Money Game: Down to her last choice, and, a win!

Bargain Game: Correct choice. A win!

Pay The Rent: Not sure yet how many possible winning setups there were (I've found 6 so far), but the contestant got one for a win! (I think someone wanted this game won today; we've all seen fewer winning setups.)

Secret "X": I figured the secret "x" would be in the middle, and it was. Another win!

Dice Game: The contestant went against the odds on the third digit. Nice & lucky win! (with double fives in the price)

Pick-A-Number: To me, 2 was definitely the best choice. Yep, and yet another win gives us a six-out-of-sixer!

Sandra ended up winning two autos today, including a sweet Chevy Camaro convertible.

Happy 4th of July everyone, and I hope you enjoy the break.

It would have been nice to see Golden Road or Triple Play instead of Rent, but that's a moot point. A perfect show, including a Rent win. Remarkable.
2nd place, 2011 CSS playoffs.     QSW, 3/27/17, 1/15/18. Exacta, 5/14/21.

What a show today!
Great wins in Money Game , Secret "X" , and Dice Game
Pay the Rent was won for only the 2nd time ever. One of the few playings of PtR where putting the Prices in price order would had won.
Both car winners in Showcase.
Best show of the year just on Gameplay by the Contestants.

MG: Not too bad to start Independence Day- El Expensivo didn't cause a loss this time!

Bargain: Easy thanks to the ATV.

PtR: Given Cassidy & Sheree earlier this season, I guess they couldn't afford a $100K win graphic in this game (maybe the third time will be charm for it just like IitB's first $16K win graphic)- LOL! And Kevin's the NEW daytime male winnings king!!!!!

SX: Pretty easy.

Dice: One away from the monster perfection!

PaN: THE 2ND & FINAL PERFECTO OF SEASON 42- YEAH, BABY!!!!!!

Showcases: Well, if you can't get the $100K winner up here, having both car game winners up here is the next best thing in my book- and not even close to a DOB today!!!!

This is as good as it gets, baby- stay safe & healthy & have your pets spayed or neutered!

After what happened today, I'm gonna say what I think everyone's thinking:

"Manuela was wearing red and Rachel was wearing blue..............So why can't we have a 3-model show where either Gwen and Amber wearing white?!"

 :P

THE BAD NEWS:

Nothing.........Absolutely nothing!  :-D

THE GOOD NEWS:

Money Game: Normally, picking the highest number would be a common thing for a loss.......Not this time. Good job by Sandra and she also won a Camaro on her SC!

Bargain Game: Easy setup and win by Timothy!

Secret X: It's up to "Yu"! New York, New York!

Dice Game: I was afraid for that second number when Matthew said "higher". That was a great win, nevertheless!

P-A-N: Same as Bargain.............Nice job by Tiffany!

Pay The Rent: OK...........I did wanted for Golden Road to be in the lineup at first. But I guess I gave up on Rent too quickly when I thought it wasn't gonna be won again. So far, this is the second win of that game's history! Kevin played that like a pro and it really wasn't a pity win like the one from last season's Big Money Week. I wasn't aware that the breath strips was gonna be worth $14.99..........That itself was unexpected.

Here are a few combinations:

1. $2.19
    $4.09 + $1.99 = $6.08
    $3.69 + $4.99 = $8.68
    $14.99

2. $4.09
    $2.19 + $1.99 = $4.18
    $4.99 + $3.69 = $8.68
    $14.99

3. $4.99
    $3.69 + $1.99 = $5.68
    $4.09 + $2.19 = $6.28
    $14.99

4. $3.69
    $2.19 + $1.99 = $4.18
    $4.09 + $4.99 = $9.08
    $14.99

5. $2.19
    $1.99 + $4.09 = $6.08
    $3.69 + $4.99 = $8.68
    $14.99

So far, those are some combos that I know that would also work.

THE BOTTOM LINE:

Best. 4th Of July Special. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And over $227K in winnings! Just incredible and we should give thanks to those men and women that are fighting for our freedom. It's gonna be a long month until The Back To School special.

Normally, I don't follow spoilers and the like, but...a PERFECT SHOW, including a Pay the Rent win?! This has got to be the best episode of the whole season, even surpassing the 12/31 episode! You could even say that today's show was 12/30 and 12/31 combined! I completely forgot about the show this morning, unfortunately, so I missed out on watching this miracle of a show. :-(

Here's to a happy Fourth of July, and thank you to all in the military who serve our country.

Why couldn't the military band switch over to the TPIR theme after the calldowns? (as in, I think it would have been neat if the band itself played the theme)

I'm going to say this again at the end of my post but it's worth saying up front too. THIS WAS 1 OF THE BEST SHOWS OF SEASON  42!

Money Game: Awesome to start off the show with a Jeep Compass win. I had a gut feeling 85 would be the back. Great start! Also very fitting to have a grill as the 1st contestants row prize on a 4th of July show.

Bargin Game: Setup to be won mainly because the ATV was obviously notably low. Nice win of 2 very nice prizes. I especially liked the 65 inch TV.

Pay the Rent: This is definitely the most contestant friendly setup I've ever seen on the Pay the Rent: The fact lowest to highest would have worked combined with the high number of winning combinations tells me Mike and the staff wanted the $100000 won today! Today's contestant was very confident and it was awesome to see a full win. Highlight of the show! You know it's a good when a car winner is spinning 2nd.

Secret X: I kinda sensed the X would be in the middle. Great to have a New York trip won. Nice touch too to have the flags on the Xs.

Dice Game: I was nervous when today's contestant rolled 4 on the 2nd digit. In the end it only made the win more exciting by providing the suspense. Awesome to have a Ford Mustang won.

Pick a Number: YES! PERFECTO!

Showcases: Both showcases were great but the Chevy Camaro showcase was the better showcase. Great to see it won.

Lineup: Who cares? Today was about the perfect show, great wins, and fantastic prizes.

Overall: Awesome! Have a great 4 of July everyone! But be careful around fireworks and don't drink and drive. THIS WAS 1 OF THE BEST SHOWS OF THE SEASON!
« Last Edit: July 04, 2014, 03:25:14 PM by moneygamelover »
Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

It didn't matter, as she won her showcase, but Drew didn't remind the second showcase bidder not to include the price of the "bonus" (the clothing, guitar, and tickets to the fanfest and "All-Star Sunday" events) in her showcase.  I wonder what would have happened had she went over?

This is the first military special I have watched in some time. Is this the first time the contestants did not wear name tags?

I believe so - after first looking and wondering why their names were on the bidding screens, it made sense that they were there because they didn't have name tags.

Also, after seeing the first few games won it made it more obvious why they chose the rerun for yesterday, and of course the final outcome confirmed that (to show both perfect shows together).
