Atlanta tops Miami, 16-10. In the battle for second string QB, Sean Renfree outplayed T.J. Yates. Still three pre-season games to show what they've got.

My Cardinals play their preseason opener tonight VS the Texans at 5:30 p.m. AZ time. Really looking forward to that. At 4:30 p.m. AZ time the NFL Network will televise Browns at Lions and while Hoyer is the starter we can expect to see some of Manziel tonight. Pro debut of Johnny Football! GO CARDINALS! :)
Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

Time to see if Manziel can actually read NFL defenses, even if they will be very vanilla tonight.

It's preseason. Scores are meaningless, as are the games. Remember when the Lions went 4-0 in the preseason and 0-16 when it counted?

That's true, to an extent. Individual matchups are interesting to watch. I've found myself watching a lot of the rookies to see how they look. You may not get a clear picture of a team, but you get a picture of who can play.

One thing I will say: Yes, it's only one game, but Tampa Bay's offensive line looks really bad. If I'm them, I'm getting on the phone and inquiring about Alex Boone.

You can get a pretty good feel for how good a running back, wide receiver, tight end, kicker, special teamer, lineman, or defensive player can be in preseason. However, it is very difficult to evaluate quarterback without the complete offenses being put into play and with the defenses they are playing against being very basic. Because things like reading defenses and decision making are so important to the quarterback position, it's tough to evaluate quarterbacks when only basic gameplans are being used.

I like what I saw on my Cardinals opening drive. The protection was good, Palmer was sharp, receivers made some nice catches, and it ended with Fitz catching a touchdown. Can't get any better than that!

I thought QBs are hard to evaluate in preseason :p

In all seriousness, I have to agree that was a nice opening drive. Also, John Brown is a guy to watch this season. Could fill the slot role for Arizona.

We know that the Jaguars are not a playoff team. The Bears have a great receiving core and they should be better on defense this year. It comes down to whether Cutler can get the job done. If he can I favor the Bears to win the NFC North. I don't trust the Lions and a team with Matt Cassel starting at QB certainly isn't going to be a playoff team as people in Kansas City know all too well. If Cutler gets it done this year the Bears win the NFC North.

The AFC is going to be down this year. I really think the Jaguars have a chance to win eight games this season. I love their defense and that division is very weak. They may get four wins against Houston and Tennessee, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them split against the Colts.

As for the Bears, defense, specially the back end, is still an issue, especially if Kyle Fuller misses time. I still think the Packers are the favorites in the North, but the Bears will certainly be in the mix.

And may I remind you that Matt Cassel led the Patriots to an 11-5 record? And that he actually didn't look that bad last season? The Vikings are another team on the rise.

NFL Network doubleheader tonight. At 4:30 p.m. AZ time we have Eagles at Patriots. At 7:30 p.m. AZ time we have Chargers at Seahawks joined in progress about 1/2 hour in.

The Saints will take on The Texans tonight @7pm. I'm not too sure if Brees will be in the field this time, but it's doubtful.
