Well folks...I'm all set and ready to head out the door for Day 2 of tapings at The Price is Right.  I'll catch y'all on the flip side when it's all over!

Aside from still being curious if the Price logo on the doors is any bigger this year (!)...

...I'm also wondering if they kept the Pricedown dollar signs on the new borders on either side of door #2.

Also, as a minor question about the premiere week, if they did retain those Pricedown dollar signs, did they have them adorned with any "43 Years" signage for the premiere week this year?

I've got a question that I don't think I've ever seen anyone ask here before. What does George's pre-show warmup consist of. Is it more or less the same as what Rich did, or is it different, and if so, how is it different?

I had thought Richards was doing the warmups.
The above is my opinion and mine alone.

To answer your questions: yes, I am a guy and yes, I have a face. (I also have the occasional spurt of weirdness.)

When I went last winter, George did the warm-ups. He would crack some jokes, and would also get everyone cheering by mentioning certain prizes (mainly cars and cash). He also went over certain rules of the show (for the first four call down, everyone must be seated so the cameras can find the contestants, look for certain cue cards if you make it up on stage such as "follow Drew" and "stay with Drew", etc). They would also pump music into the studio to get everyone excited (I can't remember any songs besides that remix of the main theme called "Come on Down"). George and Drew would also engage with the audience a lot during the commercial breaks.

*ahem*

GRRREETINGS FELLOW PLINKOHEADS!!! :-D

Day 2 of this l'il pilgrimage is over...and as far as y'all oughta be concerned, y'all can sound the losing horns on me getting picked cuz it didn't happen.   Oh well...anyways, I ain't gonna say much about this taping--which will air on 9/27--featured the newly-retooled pricing game that has generated tons of discussion and speculation.  Now...until the official Price Twitter or Instagram handles post the pics of said retooled game (which will EVENTUALLY happen), all I'm gonna say...

...wait for it...

:P

...is that Sally and a few purists will be disappointed by the change, but I LOVED the new look.  That is all.

Bully, can you at least tell us which game it is?  Not how it was retooled, but which game is involved?

You'll find out when the time is right. As for now, this part of the discussion is closed, barring Bully willing to make public which game this is. Please speculate on the game coming back for now, and only this. Thank you.  :-)

Well, we know Clock Game is untouched based on Rachel's Instagram photo. Personally, I'm sticking with my earlier prediction that it's Grocery Game getting a more modern cash register. That would be something that purists might object to being replaced seeing as it's been there since 1972.

Another thought that occurred to me might be Five Price Tags getting some kind of facelift as it's one of the only games left that doesn't have a logo incorporated into its staging anywhere.

Ok, I'm now starting to think it was, in fact, Cliff Hangers that got the reboot (with a large, animated, video background screen instead of the static background). Hans/Yodely Guy will remain the same, but I could see the game with some sort of funky cartoony animated backdrop. I could see where that could be disappointing for purists, but at the same time could make the game even more awesome for others.

Ahhhh Sally.  Hadn't thought about that misguided, misleading, misdirecting reason why the spoiler rule exists in the first place for the FPG.

If Clock Game is the same, it has to be Cliff Hangers. No other game besides Plinko (which has already been freshened up recently) is as easily identifiable as a "classic" to most people.

And I agree that a video backdrop wouldn't be too bad, as long as they keep the mountain climber as an actual physical prop--something intangible about a fully animated prop just seems...wrong.
