I don't know why so many people hate the kids specials? :-? They're an enjoyable momentary change of pace from the regular Price is Right episodes, and it's the only opportunity for kids to be in the audience.

The Kids specials are typically not executed very well and don't get a lot of wins. And for a long time, people speculated that no one under 18 is allowed to be on the show. Once the Kids specials were introduced two years ago, people started going ballistic about the change. There are some people who like things to stay the same.

That was just sheer luck the last 2 Kids Specials didn't get a lot of wins. You never know what may happen in this one.

Oh man, leave the kids at home.  Kid specials are done well on Jeopardy!, but this just doesn't work.

After that recent fiasco on Jeopardy!, I'm wary about letting kids on game shows meant for adults. It's just not a good environment.

Stroke of marketing genius by the show or CBS. This show is airing on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Every schoolkid in the country will be home. It'd be interesting to see the ratings for this one episode come in.

These specials don't really annoy me. Most of the kids are nice well behaved kids having fun. We've seen a few kids who came across badly, but we see adult contestants who slip through the cracks exactly like that.

Given that I would've LOVED to have attended a Price taping before Bob left, but was unable to due to my age, I like that the show is giving kids that opportunity that I didn't have.

The Sony hack unearthed an incident involving a child contestant who couldn't play Final Jeopardy! because she finished in the red. The girl rushed off the stage in tears and her mother complained that Trebek should have been responsible in consoling her. Trebek in turn did not want to reshoot the segment, likely because it's an S&P issue.
