Nathan wins by default, and he will get to play today’s Let’s Make a Deal game – Gold Rush – for a Ford Fiesta SE! (1.6 L engine, FWD, 6-speed AT, paint/fabric protection)
Here’s how the game works. 7 numbers are given, and 5 of them are in the price of the car. The 5 that are in the car’s price contain gold behind them, while the 2 that aren’t contain dynamite (with a ZONK symbol). Picking the 2 numbers that aren’t in the car’s price is a loss – picking the 5 in the car’s price is a win. As you correctly pick the numbers in the car’s price, you progress up a money ladder - $500, $1000, $2000, $4000, and then the car. If you pick one wrong number, you may bail with the money you have, or keep going.

I hadn't really thought about this before, but the reality of death means that every day there are less people in the world than the day before.  In reality there are many more people in the world than this but for illustration: If one day there are 1000 people in the world and the next day 55 people die, now there are 945 people in the world. if 30 more die the next day now there are 915 people in the world. So we'll eventually become extinct as will all creatures as the same reality applies to dogs, cats, horses etc.

What a great and lucky day for Joseph! Winning the car in Switcheroo, breaking a 90 cent tie in the showcase showdown, and winning another car in the showcase.

A couple of things I didn't like about today's show though. 1) Jonathan and Drew's prospector antics during Gold Rush. The gameplay was fine, but that behavior was too silly for me. 2) Drew addressing the camera at the end of Hi-Lo. He ignored the contestant, who was left just standing there (and in the shot) for an extended period of time, while he made some less than necessary comments. That looked bad to me. I know Bob addressed the camera many times, but usually (if not always) after saying goodbye to the contestant and/or getting him/her out of the shot.

And how about LMAD quickie deals made in a TPIR audience? In the Bob Barker Studio? That was something. I think I would have looked better with the audience seated, but very little chance of that happening these days. *little sigh*  By the way, wouldn't it be cool to see Monty Hall come through the Price doors this week?  :)

I really liked the second Showcase because it made the episode feel more like a mashup than just having a featured segment. It took a while, but I think it worked.
Torgo has left the building. John and I never really cared for the way he presented himself.

I love how Gold Rush was done on this episode...I wouldn't mind seeing it as a real TPIR game!  :-D

I would throughly prefer if you saw the price of the car and the subsequently revealed digits in the price. I guess that makes it too similar to Shot in the Dark.

Gold Rush's reworking sounds similar to Gas Money, only you're picking the right numbers instead of the wrong prices, but the money bailout option is similar.

Pick numbers, from a string, that are in the car's price without making two mistakes.

That's Add 'Em Up, without the adding element (and with a bailout option.)

Gold Rush seems like a really neat idea for a pricing game.  My only beef is that there was no context surrounding the numbers -- it felt like they should have been filling in the price as they were selected instead of just being removed from the board.

In other news, that was the second utterly amazing Switcheroo win in a row.

Jonathan's cameo in Balance Game looked totally predictable at first, but having Manuela come out to rag on him ended up making it pretty funny.

Hi Lo has been really erratic this season -- it spent the first half of the year hardly ever showing up, and now it's been played five times in eight weeks.

Yay for Double Prices at the Giant Price Tag!  I really liked the staging, too, with the two monitors next to each other.

Major props to whoever thought of the second showcase.  Having the rest of the show be rushed was totally worth it for that payoff.

Gold Rush's reworking sounds similar to Gas Money, only you're picking the right numbers instead of the wrong prices, but the money bailout option is similar.

Really?  I don't think it was similar to Gas Money at all.  The comparisons to Stack the Deck and Add 'em Up are pretty apt, though.

Would it make sense to light up the correct numbers as they are called, so when you get to the end, for instance, the price of a Ford Fusion is $2_,605 the remaining numbers are 1,3,4. Or would that have too  much of an "Any #" feel?

I think it would be more similar to Pick-a-Number, given the scenario you posted.
