Signature contestant for pricing games
« on: August 23, 2016, 10:45:01 AM »
For example, 1980 Pauline at the Grand Game becoming the first winner and chasing Bob around.  For another example Bryan at PunchABunch giving up $5,000 and getting $10,000 on the next slip.

Can we come up with a list of a signature contestant or contestants for each pricing game both past and present?

The main reason I feel like such a list doesn't exist is because the list would become highly subjective, resulting in a snowball effect where every winner ends up included.

Some games are easier than others, but a lot of games are just too difficult.

Hole in One has had its share of unique players and amazing moments over the years as has Plinko.

The quickies are usually mostly unremarkable. Outside of a perhaps overly excited contestant nothing rarely happens there. And a lot of other games just seem to mix together.

Overall, the idea seems like such a massive undertaking for certain games.

Of course, some games have more than one iconic contestant. Dice Game has both Edrie (Super excited, nervous older contestant) and Walter (The only perfect playing in Dice Game history), for example.

A couple I can think of:

Buy or Sell- "Buy or Sell Michael" from season 31

Plinko- Rosina the Plinko Lady from season 26, challenged only maybe the woman that had to go to the bathroom in the first playing of season 36.

I should add that Kenneth's playing of Bargain Game from a couple seasons ago was easily one of the funniest pricing game playings ever!

Dennis, the 6'10'' contestant from season 29 who did a lap across the stage and gave us a rare view of the Lucky Seven game after winning comes to mind.

I would say Super Ball!! has two of them as well - Mohini and Yvonne.
I hadn't really thought about this before, but the reality of death means that every day there are less people in the world than the day before.  In reality there are many more people in the world than this but for illustration: If one day there are 1000 people in the world and the next day 55 people die, now there are 945 people in the world. if 30 more die the next day now there are 915 people in the world. So we'll eventually become extinct as will all creatures as the same reality applies to dogs, cats, horses etc.

Bryan from S24 and his Punch-a-Bunch win was the first one that came to mind. Also a more recent one: Sheree with her record breaking Gas Money win a couple years ago.

A third one for Super Ball!! would be Maureen who played the only perfect game in Super Ball!! history, the first 3 balls in the win circle and the Super Ball in the win circle.

Paul has to be the undisputed Bonus Game master. After all, not only was he the first contestant to ever play it, he played it perfect...TWICE!!!

10 Chances also has a twofer. Daniel, who won the game without writing a single number when the set malfunctioned and had all of the prices revealed, and Joy's infamous playing from September 2006 that literally knocked Bob off his feet!

Thought of a couple more: Flip Flop- Breton, the "Flip Flop cheater" from the April 4 episode in season 33

Also, for Grocery Game, I would go with Boo Boo, the woman who played the game on the Friday show of the first week.

Kristy - The biggest winner in daytime Plinko history winning 30 grand

Chad - Playing a perfect game of Cliff Hangers

Honorable mention to Yodeling Walter from Cliff Hangers because he was hilarious.
