Who Wants To Be A Millionaire
« on: March 31, 2007, 01:13:30 PM »
Not to blow my own horn or anything, but I gotta plug this coming Thursday's syndicated Millionaire show! Thank you for watching.

(By the way, I've lost almost 20 lbs. since it was taped.)

Nice job, Dave! $8,000 is pretty nice to have. I have to say, though... when you decided to use Phone-a-Friend, I was wondering if you'd call Robair. Sure enough! Pretty cool that the both of you got airtime. :-)

I was incredibly surprised to see DM on the show when I got home from work and tuned in after TPiR!

Congratulations Dave, and it was nice to hear the voice of yet another GR.net member!

What about Bob?

That $16,000 question was a killer.  Come on, who in America uses "Monegasque" in their daily conversations?  I would've guessed Monaco just cuz the work looked French.

Great to hear Rob, too!
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Well, that's why it was $16,000 and not $1,000.  :D

Yeah, I would have avoided the audience on that one. They're smart, but usually I'd only trust them on entertainment questions.

Alas, if the 50/50 would have just left Madagascar and Monaco. But $8,000 is nothing to scoff at. Congratulations!

Have your classes had a chance to see it?  What did they think?  :-)

Yeah, that $16K question seemed quite tricky.  Having never heard of "Monegasque" before seeing this show, I'd have probably done the same thing in that position.

But hey, you did great, Dave!
Yes, I'm still around. :P

At the school I was at yesterday, all the TV's were tuned to our Millionaire station, since everyone wanted to know how I did after all that buildup these last five months. The kids and teachers all got a big kick out of it and everyone was so proud. I heard back from the principal at my other school and he said it was pretty much the same scene.

I'd write more now, but I have to do a radio interview. (Imagine how in-demand I'd be if I actually won the million!)

Dave... if you want, I can record it for you on here in case you didn't record it yourself. :-)
