Bidding Round #1- #223, Tristin! :-D

Triple Play- That was awful. Totally easy pick there, and she blew it. What an excitement killer.

Cliff Hangers- It's January 2 revisited! Of course, that contestant was on 24, but still. This was a miracle, too.

Showcase Showdown #1- ...and Tristin gets screwed by the wheel. Go figure.

Pick a Pair- Wow, who would've ever thought this game would be on a losing streak? Shocking.

Showcase- Goodness... that trailer must be on steroids!

BEST CONTESTANT OF THE DAY- Mareia.

SHOW SUMMARY AND GRADE- Yet another fun show. Nice to see TPIR back to the way I like to see it (minus the evil Big Wheel)... Grade: 3

Mareia was probably the crowd favorite even if it may be just because she was a police officer.  However, her playing of Cliffy was a little sub-par.

For someone who looked to the audience, Tristin got in a pretty good effort.

Games 4 and 5 were won in impressive fashion, I would say.

I could have sworn triple play has been won this season.  Maybe I am wrong, but I thought it has been won.  Oh well, I wont be in chat til tuesday.

Triple Play: Absolutely horrible. All three cars were Chevys, BTW. The other two cars were a Malibu sedan (which, if she had not blown it on the first car, would probably have blown it here, since they're so cheap now), and a Monte Carlo (which, I think, hasn't appeared since Season 32). No excuse for losing right away. I believe this game will go winless in a season for the first time in its existence.

Cliffhangers: Great win! After that foul up on the second item, I didn't think she wasn't going to win.

Bonkers: If Kristin hadn't looked to the audience, she might have had a better shot.

SSD1: I'm so happy Maragaret didn't make it to the Showcase, after the way she stunk up Triple Play.

One Wrong Price: I thought the golf club choice was going to lose, but what do I know.

Money Game: Blowing the first two picks was understandable, since the Cobalt was a cheap car, and most don't think cars are cheap now. 49 was the most logical choice for the last two digits, but it could have been 99.

Pick-a-Pair: What?!? Lost twice in a row now?!? What's going on in this world?

Showcases: After the tale Maereia said, I was really glad she won! The expensive bathtub strikes again!

Overall: Average, at best.

...what do you mean, "again"? It's not like we see an expensive bathtub all the time.

Triple Play: I knew immediately that Margaret lost once she picked $17K as Aveo price.

Cliffhangers: I thought the toaster was $40 myself.  What an exciting finish for Mareia! Particularly after a bad guess on the cookie jar.

Bonkers: Kristin, despite moving slowly, played it fairly well, much better than the Molly Fiasco.

One Wrong Price: I thought that the golf clubs was correct and that the Drum Set was wrong.

Money Game: I was thinking that the 1st 2 digits were 16.  I thought for sure it ended with 99.

Pick a Pair: I had a bad feeling Arthur would lose once he picked the entree.

Showcase: I thought $21,000 would cover the trailer.  I had a bad hunch James was over on the Spain SC.

Overall: A fun show due to contestants and Bob in a great mood.

Triple Play: That Chevy Aveo made me want to go $17K. But something made me want to go low with the 14. I didn't listen to my self and lost. As I type, I know think some Pontiac Vibes (or some other car like that) can be around that price..

Cliff Hangers: I said $50 for the toaster. I almost committed an injury when the mountain climber was on 25. I stopped myself in the process.

Bonkers: A direct inverse from the recent Race Game: Kristin referred to the audience instead of using a little number logic, which cost some time.

One Wrong Price: I said it had to be either the drums or or the ice cart. Boy, was I so wrong on that.

Money Game: Another [least expensive] car????

Pick-A-Pair: There is no way I would pay $3.99 for some microwavable fettuccini alfredo. The Tums was my definitive choice for $3.99.

Pick a Pair and Triple Play were both lost!  Yay!  Two of my favorite games to see lost!  Could've made a nice threesome if Hans died today.

And wow, Pick a Pair has been lost twice in a row, now!  It wasn't even hard today.  Then again, that's not unusual for this game.

Considering Mareia's awful $19 guess on the cookie jar in Cliff Hangers, I'm surprised she had the forethought to guess $47 on the toaster, which was actually a much better guess than $45 or $50 would have been, since it covered both.

35 was wrong in Money Game again.  I think Roger's just doing that to mess with all our heads :-P!

Oddly, the wrong price for the golf clubs looked better than the right price did.  How a pair of prizes comes to exactly $2011 I'll never know.

After seeing the bathtub in the first showcase, I just knew that the contestant was going to underbid on it by a lot.

And echoing what Mello already said, Tristin actually played Bonkers fairly well for someone who kept looking to the audience.  Just imagine how she could've done if she actually ignored them!

And Xavier... when was the last time we've had a contestant with a name starting with X ?  He's cool just for that.  And for being the ninth contestant too, I guess.

thewhammy_2000 scared us with:  I almost committed an injury when the mountain climber was on 25. I stopped myself in the process.

Please tell us that's just a joke that wasn't funny.

It's a shame that Tristin lost Bonkers, because it looked like the last change she was about to make was to make it LHHH, which of course would have won.  Unfortunately, she either heard something convincing from the audience, or just made a gut decision to change that first one, which she had wisely kept in the same (and correct) place for 25 seconds.  A little bit too much audience-looking-at for my liking, but she's nowhere near the least effective players in the history of this game.

One Wrong Price was tricky today; I've finally figured out that drum sets on this show generally seem to approach $2000, and then we get this one for $1088.  I definitely would have picked the drums and definitely would have lost.

Pick-a-Pair should have been won, but if you're not familiar with the price of Tums, you probably wouldn't think that it's $3.99.  People always seem to think it's really expensive.

And a great Cliff Hangers save today!  It wasn't played that poorly, really; the cookie jar was her only bad guess, and she sure made up for it with the toaster.

I really don't know why Margaret thought to pick $17,890 for the Aveo, especially since the lower priced tag is generally right for the first car anyway.

Am I just thinking wrong, or did not Cliff Hangers used to be staged further back.  For a while now, the reveal shot makes it look like it's been moved forward away from the Turntable, but I'm probably wrong.

Speaking of Cliff Hangers, I know Marecia guessing $47 for the $50 toaster meant more yodeling, which I hate; but I've got to wonder if she did that on purpose to finish on step twenty-five.  If she did, that would be cool just...because.

Do contestants not realize that Bonkers! can be played strategically and not random guessing...or by just looking to the audience members in the first row?

It was nice for Bob to have a bit of interacting with James between every prize in One Wrong Price.  It lead to Bart using a cut and not a fade to change between prizes!

Money Game's last pair of numbers wasn't thirty-five...interesting.

The last one I can think of is Xochtil, but, dang, I can't remember how many years ago that was.
Roger Dobkowitz's Seven Commandments of The Price Is Right:
1. Tape and edit the show as if it were live.
2. Never tell the contestant what to do.
3. Size matters. (The bigger the prize, the better the prize and the bigger the reaction.)
4. All prizes are good.
5. Never do anything on the show that would embarrass a parent with a kid watching.
6. Never put on a prize that would make the show look cheap.
7. It’s the game, stupid! (It’s about the game.)

PG #1 - No excuse for anybody to have missed the price of that Aveo.

PG #2 - Whoa!  Just eked that win out, Mareia!  I was afraid she was gonna say $45 on the toaster.

PG #3 - Tristan didn't win, but she played that game significantly better than... she who shan't be named.

One-Bid #4 - Yay!  The Big Green Egg!  :-P

PG #4 - I'll bet Roger wasn't expecting anybody to think that snow cone cart actually was $3,300+...

PG #5 - ... and I'll bet Roger wasn't expecting anybody to pick 49 instead of 35 or 85, either.  Two nice Dobstoppers in a row!  And that's the first time in a long that I've seen 99 as a choice.

PG #6 - Pappy is lost twice in a row... but today's setup wasn't even remotely difficult!  Roger set up OWP and Money for losses, and Pappy for a win... and guess what happened?

My showcase bids - FRTS:  $27,775.  Splendido:  $13,400.
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

I was excited to see Triple Play again, but I was not very happy with how it was played.  I guessed $14,150 as the closest price.  That was a stupid move by Margaret.

The Cliffhangers game win was really good.  When she said 19 dollars for the cookie jar I was like "WHAT???!!"  The prices increase, not decrease.  Fortunately she missed the toaster by 3--that was a miracle win.

Money Game--I think Roger wanted it lost today with the "49" as the last 2 digits, but Jason was able to outsmart him today.

Showcases: I thought both went over their bids on the showcases.  Apparently I underestimated Mareia.
