Yup, saw he was in those commercials also. I guess I should've included that since I worked there a few years before its closing.

Mario Segale, the Seattle real estate owner who was also the namesake for Nintendo character Mario, passed away on October 27th at the age of 84.

The story goes that a warehouse Segale owned once served as Nintendo's American headquarters. When Segale approached then-president of Nintendo of America Minoru Arakawa to demand payment for a late rent bill, Arakawa noticed the resemblance between Segale and "Jumpman" (as Mario was then known). The rest, as they say, is history.

Well, there goes arguably the most notable comic book person ever.

Rest in peace, Stan.
"If any show, forget sports, Price is Right, [the audience is] the star of the show. Somebody... coming on down and losing their minds, and ... crying, that's the show. The show isn't me, the show isn't necessarily [a] can of soup, how much that is, it's watching people go bananas, and there's going to be some of that missing."

-Drew Carey, interview with Athletic, September 16, 2020

"I honestly thought the doubler was gone, but 9821 going $0 makes sense"

As an avid comic book collector, this is very sad to hear. He was truly a legend.
