Bob would talk contestants out of putting the free X in one of the middle spots whenever one tried to.
There's a big difference between "Are you *really sure* you want to do that?" and "Thou shalt not place X's in the middle squares."

There's no reason to prevent a person from doing something in a game just because it seems to be a dumb thing to do.

Simply put, if this is akin to Tic-tac-toe, then a contestant should be able to place an X in a center space, just as in Tic-tac-toe itself.

As Casey said, persuasion and prevention are two very different things.

Drew should start being more specific with describing Secret X by mentioning that the contestant has to get three Xs in a row using the "Secret X", instead of just saying that it's like Tic Tac Toe. I'm surprised though how many contestants have placed their Xs in the center squares the past few years and won, as by doing that, there's only 1 possible way to win.

The $20K win in Time is Money was great, but don't you think they need to make that moment more exciting?  Looking at the sign and waiting for it to light up is not that exciting for such a big payout.  I believe in the past, the squares on the doors also lit up when the $20K was won.  It's actually more exciting when the contestant wins a lot of money during the 'second chance' round because when the contestant hits the red button everything stops and you know we have a winner.  What else can be done to make the rare $20K win more exciting?

That was a really big gamble on Secret "X" that fortunately paid off in the end.

Always great to see a full win on Time is Money, too! (ditto for Gas Money)
