This was a really fun show, and it's a shame that this was part of a themed week, otherwise it would certainly hit the airwaves again as a repeat during the Summer.

I was hoping to see "exacta" on the recap for Lucky 7.

This was the first time I can recall this happening ... although I can picture it happening once or twice in the deep past when Bob Barker was host. If it did indeed happen ... it was a LLLLLOOOONNNNGGGG time ago.

Only gripe is that Golden Road wasn't played this week. Maybe next week.

The only real gripe I had with the episode was 3 Strikes. Looks like we were headed for a win, and we didn’t need to worry about the contestant cheating.

Just a fantastic episode all around. Good LORD, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a perfect Lucky 7 before. Two dollar spinners, five cars.

don't many of the gimmick weeks get rerun during the summer?

Good show today , with the highlight being the perfect playing of L7.
A few records were tied or broken with today's show. We had the most ever won in a playing in bargain game's history.
We also tied the record for the most non-car games played in one show ( 4 )

Lucky $even was definitely set up to be won, but who would've saw a perfect playing coming? Just an incredible job by Stephanie.

Bargain Game was a bit tricky with the Versa having the lower bargain price, so great job by Jeffrey to not fall into the trap of picking that one.

Another gimmick in Plinko, another time barely anything is won. The downer of the day.

Very easy Vend-o-Price, the risotto had twice the quantity yet was only .70 cents less than the hamburgers.

3 Strikes comes back for the first time in a while. Looks like the solution to avoiding contestants seeing inside the hopper is to have them look away as they pull. So wanted Anthony to win, he was on his way there until getting the 2 strikes in a row.

They do! Usually Dream Car Week and Big Money Week get replayed at some point during the summer.

Ah, excellent! I'll have to make sure that's the one rerun I watch this Summer then.

I don’t think there’s every been a Lucky $even exacta before, but I DO seem to remember reading and/or hearing that, prior to today, the best playing of Lucky $even had the contestant losing only $1 during the course of the game (then of course paid $1 for the car and took home $5).  It might have even been Bob who said that; obviously not written in stone.  Perhaps someone will confirm.

I searched around YouTube earlier and did see a clip from the 80s, I think: the first number was 1. Contestant guessed 6 for the next two, and they were correct. Then I believe guessed 5 and it was another 6. And for the last number he guessed 5 on the nose.
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

I merely suggested the possibility that a Lucky Seven exacta happened in the deep past. Indeed, if it happened, it came on a show during the pre VCR-era 1970s and has never been rerun (i.e., due to the presence of a certain animal-based prize) or seen recently on TV, and we've all forgotten about it.

Also remember this has been played on the Dennis James nighttime show and -- from the ones that I've heard from j-shea's collection -- there were some impressive wins, though the best playing I heard (on those tapes) had a contestant ending with $4 left.

I will agree it seems that being off by only $1 (or possibly $2) was the best playing I've heard about. Despite the contestant making it a cinch today -- and admittedly, it was a fairly easy playing even though the stars did align for her perfectly -- this is not that easy of a game to win, I've found.

I heard only the TV from the other room, but once she had all $7 left heading down the stretch, I was afraid she was going to make a Cliff Clavin-type blunder ... but she kept her head and she deserved to win. Good job by her!

Brian
