"Card Sharks" Question #2 (contestants)

One question about the contestants on the 2019 Joel McHale version of "Card Sharks":

Since there are no returning champions on this version, how is it determined which contestant gets the red deck and who gets the blue deck?

On the premiere, I noticed that in both games the male player used the blue cards, and the female the red.
Last week, however, the genders were reversed in one game. And on last night's show, the first game had both contestants female.

I would imagine they do a coin toss or a card draw before the game to determine which player will play with which deck.
