The new Master Key props really look good. Really like the gold and wood, and the keyhole and key design of the backgrounds. I’m glad they kept the mechanical aspect. And I’m pretty sure Drew appreciates the larger pull tabs on the price cards; he often had a bit of difficulty with the old ones.

Time is Money! One of my favorite games. I was sure of the highest and lowest priced products; the arrangement of the others was more challenging for me.

No good luck in Lucky $even.

I hereby forgive the set design department for their Side by Side...whatever that was. This has gotta be THEE best set refurbishment I have ever seen. I love the prominence of gold here, as well as the faux wood. Really gives off the elegance that you would expect. Lots of glitter, lots of shiny, 11/10!!

Kudos also to the staff for keeping this completely under wraps! Gives me faith in them, it really does.

Master Key looks great! A+ to the design team. Although the SPs were on the easier side for the inaugural playing, the key picking wasn't made any easier and unfortunately only one prize was won.

$26.54 is the second highest grocery product in Time is Money history, only behind $37.99 vitamins.

I like the new Master Key look! It's slick and sleek and shiny, it looks good in action, and it even reflects light like a real lock.

But I gotta ask, of all the games to update, why Master Key? The old set still looked great! There are plenty of prospective game remodels that seem more necessary and probably less expensive--especially the game played immediately before it today!

(Seriously, is there somebody there who really likes that game? How do 3 Strikes, Double Prices, and Master Key all get remodels before Pick-a-Number?)
Quote from: Bill Todman
"The sign of a good game, is when you don't have to explain it every day. The key is not simplicity, but apparent simplicity. Password looks like any idiot could have made it up, but we have 14 of our people working on that show. There is a great complexity behind the screen. It requires great work to keep it simple."

Bidding: The bidding by the 4th bidders was bad today. 4 $1 bids that failed and another $300 bid that had no chance of winning.

Lucky $even: Full credit to William for not guessing 5 for digits 3 and 4. Too bad the producers zigged when he zagged.

Time i$ Money: Jennifer suffered from the cardinal sin in this game--she looked at the audience.

Master Key: I'll miss the old set, but hello! The gold works beautifully here as it makes the locks look like they're protecting something really valuable. The large keyhole behind the locks is also a really nice touch. My only minor quibble is that the white-on-green "win" symbol when a prize is won is out of place--they should've done something like black text on a gold background to match the rest of the set. But otherwise, very well done! Just 8.75 years until I can be on the show again and maybe be the first person to play the same game on two different sets :). #haveToDream

Way back when this episode was taped (in March), Rosendo (yes, the one from the 9,000th show) messaged me on FB and told me about the new set. I like it! It's updated, but with a lot of the old set still recognizable. I will miss the Sherlock theme to the logo, but this one does look fairly sleek and nice.

I'm going to miss the old Master Key design, as I in general like that stuffy old mansion style.  That being said, it clashed horribly with the current set and a redesign was not a bad idea at all.  Even better, they did a damned good job with it.  The only thing I would change is making the backdrop the keys are on a little bit darker to increase the contrast, but that's it.  Another home run by the design team.

With all the reskins they've done in the last 5-10 years, I'm honestly shocked there's been no complete duds. Not all of the have been fantastic (Side by Side is decidedly average and Clock Game might be a little ott for my tastes), but none have been visual disasters.

Weird humblebrag aside, I think Bonus Game Paul would beg to differ. I also believe we had a contestant play Any Number on multiple sets.

I like the new Master Key set quite a bit, but it looks odd that the outer edge of the circle covers a bit of the border lighting on the turntable. Making the words "MASTER" and "KEY" the teeth of the key in the logo was a nice touch, and now we don't have the artifact P's on the keys.
Torgo has left the building. John and I never really cared for the way he presented himself.

Probably because they know whatever remodel they do, they're gonna be stuck with it for a while. Thankfully, this one came out great.

The Master Key set looks very slick. I'd consider it a vast improvement over the older set. The color scheme just fits the theme so well. It might just be the angles, but after watching some videos of the old set, it seems that the height of the locks have ever-so-slightly being moved down. Being vertically challenged, I can appreciate that. :-)

The show overall was alright, but the tough L7 playing really brought things down. Plus, the giant Jif jar claims another victim.

The new Master Key set looks great! There is only one part of it that is bothering me, and that is the white base for the game. It just looks strange when everything else is gold. Other than that, major props to the designers!

The Master Key refurbishment is definitely nice, it's sleek and the new game logo incorporating the name on the key is great. Just wish it was slightly less monochromatic, but it's certainly one of the best new sets they've done.
