Who the frig is Gregory Pearsoll?

Some guy on Facebook. I was friends with him, but then he blocked me when I tried to question him on some things. He was the origin of those aforementioned claims that I heard from. And I suspect he may have been the one who started the rumor about any TPIR episodes with Bump as a pricing game being skipped.

So basically, he's your bowling buddy.

We’re back at “I can’t believe it!” Lori in 1982. I’m ready to get further into 1985. Hope this next round brings us new eps.

Oh, well.

Well now they're about to have a marathon celebrating the show's actual 50th anniversary with a promo (I am a newcomer so I haven't been allowed to post the link here yet)

Based on the segments seen in the promo I can quickly point out which episodes may be seen in the upcoming event:
- 4682D (11-23-1982) - DSW
- 5083D (11-16-1983) - DSW
- 5291D (04-16-1984) - Kenneth won $30,819, as I saw the Salute to the 50s showcase in it
- 5322D (05-08-1984) - New winnings record set by Captain John at $39,518
- 5474D (11-08-1984) - DSW, I saw a short segment of June who played Danger Price in that episode

They said "featuring some of the biggest winners we've ever had on the show" so my guess is that they would feature Double Showcase Winners, winnings record breakers and other winners of at least $30,000.

Speaking of the next reset point, with a marathon coming down the pipe - the next time the cycle resets would be 6pm ET on 9/18/2022 barring any skips. Which would make sense since it would be not long before Season 51 premieres... who knows what will happen but we will see if YouTube takedowns may be issued by next week

12pm: #4903D - April 27, 1983
1pm: #4914D - May 5, 1983

September 5, 2022

1am: #5462D - October 30, 1984
2am: #5474D - November 8, 1984

It's a bummer that they didn't include Diana Brownfield's $41,571 record (which was from #5513D), but it was really like a marathon could go for so long.

Apparently, I did see a GSN broadcast of the December 22, 1986 episode on YouTube just now, and it did have Bump played and kept intact.  So that somewhat disproves Gregory Pearsoll's claim of episodes with Bump being skipped.

I am thinking this claim of his was more due to information on some site that suggests that Bump was retired in order to make the show more family-friendly. I bet his claim will be debunked if Buzzr gets around to airing the Season 14 episodes.

Why are we still talking about this?  Also, what the hell would a GSN broadcast from over 20 years ago have to do with what Pluto is doing in the present day?

I can clarify that this rumor wasn't from Gregory - it's from another guy named Adam Scimone... what he said was this - "Also, I think they’re not going beyond season 13 at all, probably due to the game, Bump."

Rumors spread from another person's....opinion?  Really?

I'm sure Pluto will start airing different episodes when the right time comes.

I remember seeing an episode way back in the 1980s in which there was a young child in the studio audience, and Bob started a conversation with him, and the boy was offered a large assortment of toys which was revealed behind the giant price tag, and I think at least one or two models were standing alongside the toys.  I also believe one of the toys was a Transformers toy.  I am thinking the episode aired sometime in the mid-1980s - has Pluto TV aired this episode yet?
I am not someone that has posted much but I feel since I do remember this, I should chime in on it.  I don't remember the specifics of it but do recall seeing this.  As a guess it might have been a make a wish situation?  This also got me thinking of a few other memorable moments that I have not seen anyone discuss or rebroadcasted yet on Pluto.  Does anyone else remember these happening?

The middle dial on the safe falling off when Dian went to lock the safe?

During a playing of Punch a Bunch a contestant won all 4 punches and also at least one maybe 2 second chances leading to some confusion on the number of holes left at the end of the game.  Someone off stage or in the audience said there was another hole causing Bob to get worked up saying the staff was out the night before for his birthday and he was the only one not drinking as they were checking all the punched holes for another slip.  Bob even ripped the large dollar prop out of Janice's hands telling her to stop standing around and help him look for the supposed remaining hole. (I am looking forward to this showing up in future releases on Pluto as it is one of the funniest playing's of this game)

What about the time that Bob was getting a hard time about his shirt?  If I remember correctly it was brought up throughout the entire show and someone in the audience said they liked it.  On returning from commercial to reveal the showcase prices Bob no longer had a shirt on and only had his suit coat and maybe his tie on.  He gave the shirt to the guy in the audience and mentioned something about tinting his chest hair if he knew the day was going to end this way.

The one I have seen on Pluto is when the red area in the range game coming off and Bob had to hold it up.  I posted about this several years ago as something I remembered seeing but no one was able to confirm it until it re-aired.

This one has aired, and a clip of it is on the official Barker Era YouTube channel.
