It's been a while since someone quit Grand Game (on a regular basis), but I guess it's tough to do so when risking $1,000 for $10,000 is no longer a big deal.

That contestant that played Rat Race (Mary I believe) was in danger of losing her voice (and probably would have had she won).  Love the excitement, but it was tough with her struggling to shout in excitement.  Not sure if she won the showcase or even got there.

Paige may know the prices of the prizes (except for the Toyota she was playing for in Dice Game), but she doesn't know the odds related to spinning a second time or staying put.  It took about 10-15 seconds after spinning on 80.  Still, it was so tough to see her lose; she rolled very well and didn't get robbed off of the 5th digit.  Like Mary, I don't know if she redeemed herself in the showcase (CBS special report following Act 6)

Recap posted.

Maybe it's just me that finds the car washes + gas + car setup in Key and Rat really annoying, because it's not the first time they've done that.

Today’s Showcase felt like it was designed to be a double overbid, but Paige lowballed her bid. I wonder if she did that because she thought Erin was over?

It's called being Lazy.  Much easier for the production staff and crew to offer these prizes.  Set up one of those Video Platforms used for trips and you're done - versus acquiring and staging some "real" prizes like the 'classic' days.

I was in the break room at my job with some of my coworkers that day when Rat was played and believe me just the concept of gas for a year got a more favorable reaction from them than the car itself. The video screen presentation does leave something to be desired understandably (for us, at least), but the concept of car care in addition to a new car, in my opinion, is a real nice prize in this era.
Since we’re here: What’s “gas for a year” anyway? Is it a cash prize?

Pretty sure gas for a year is a cash prize.  Back in the day it was $1,000.  Maybe now it's $1,500 but the producers can make it any amount since it's never something the contestant has to bid on and they don't have to reveal the price.
