Seemed unusual to have Debra do the Master Key first?

Unless the other one was for just the car (since that wasn't mentioned at all)?

that's typical in the modern Drew era, where he doesn't go for the same suspense Bob did by having the master key be the second one (even if it's chosen first)

But if a contest chooses the Master Key and the Car key, then showing the Master Key first is the correct order for maximum tension. If you show the Car-only key first, it renders the Master Key largely irrelevant.

Now, we don't know if the other key chosen was the Car key, and I agree that Drew really doesn't acknowledge these distinctions.

It is amazing to me that The Price is Right has 4 Female Models and they could not get one to this episode and to hand off the microphone to Drew.

I doubt it's the first time that's happened.

I doubt it's the first time that's happened.

In the Drew era , excluding today , he's had no mic handoffs 15 times to start the show ( not counting the COVID season for obvious reasons )

When the car was revealed for the first game, in spite of the language being wrong, I thought for sure they were doing Clock Game for a car.  I can't believe they used those first two prizes for Master Key.

I think the main mystery of this season, at least as far as the FAQ goes, is going to wind up being, "What the hell are they doing with the light colors?"  Today alone, some of the columns and rings in the audience were red during Dice Game, all of the Contestants' Row displays were blue when they got on-camera during the Showcase, and they forgot to turn the light strips on the doorframes red for the second Showcase Showdown (which, given that they tape the Showcase Showdowns back-to-back now, struck me as really strange).  They also don't seem to be color-coding the Turntable walls for each Item up for Bids anymore.  I kind of miss that.

Reed really didn't seem to know what he was doing during To the Penny.  I'm not sure how you can give a wrong answer in that game when there's only one answer left, but damn if he didn't almost do it.

Can anybody explain to me why the episodes are not aired in order they are taped? Don’t understand the logic in this.

I like when the Master Key is occasionally revealed first; it keeps regular viewers on their toes when Drew asks “is that the Master Key” knowing that it’s a possibility.

Password looks like any idiot could have made it up, but we have 14 of our people working on that show. There is a great complexity behind the screen. It requires great work to keep it simple."

Most people don't care about the order of shooting shows, and it honestly makes more sense to front load your season premiere with a lot of big wins. Price has been doing this a few years and most except a few even notice.

Great wins in Master Key and Range Game to start, then things went downhill after that besides Flip Flop. A heartbreaker in Dice Game, and probably the worst playing of To the Penny to date.

The season premiere was taped to be intended as such with all of the references present, but for the very first shows taped at the studio present, you probably want to make sure that you have a couple shows in the can before you really need to be on point, whether its the host, the camera operators, technical crew, and everyone else so that the larger expected audience is on point. Sure, as comments in the premiere's thread mentioned that there are still quite a few kinks to work out.

if you ever go to a taping, they tell you when the show you are at will air.
they have been doing it this way for a long time.
the answer above is probably the best explanation.

If Debra kept her original $31k bid for her showcase, she would have won. She second guessed herself and it cost her.
