I also exclaimed "What??" after the mountain climber stopped momentarily at the top of the mountain.

Two fantastic showcase bids today. It was close indeed.

More on that here (he might come and post it again anyways).

Finally a lineup with a 1+P / 4P in it. I'll take the 1+P, I suppose. The results really fell apart but it was still an enjoyable enough show.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

So of course the showcases were pre-empted in San Francisco by breaking news of a rescue that, at the time, nobody seemed to have any idea as to what happened. (Bad news: it was a sewer worker who was trapped when the trench he was in collapsed and he ended up covered in 10 feet of dirt and concrete, and he didn't survive.)

One of the contestants on here that was called down, Blake Mathews, was a former meteorologist for KHOU (Houston) and KTVT (Dallas), both in Texas.

It appears the first Haven-related prop piece that won’t be used anymore is the Most Expensive logo carpet.  I would assume because there isn’t enough room behind the doors?
They can be close at the top, too.

The Cliffhanger “pause” was a fantastic moment.  The audience entire gasped in amazement and then Hans went diving.  I am happy that they left THAT alone and in the airing.

I had high hopes there we had a double showcase winner already when the first one was less than a grand off. Still, it made for an exciting end to the show.

Cliff Hangers was perfect.  It was absolute serendipity that that particular bid and that particular malfunction happened on the same item, and Drew not even pretending there was a chance Blake might not have lost made it even better.  We're less than a week in, but that's a candidate for Moment of the Season.

I'm disappointed the Most Expen$ive carpet is gone, but not really surprised -- it's pretty clear even at a glance that there's not as much space behind Door #2 as there used to be.  This was only the second day of taping, so maybe they'll come up with a workaround later on.

$XX,251 is an LFAT showcase bid (coincidentally or not) since they never put showcases within DSW range of $XX,000 bids anymore. Too bad it didn't quite pay off today, but great bids nonetheless.

And we're back. I assume season 52 has been really popular and used up the bandwidth quota for September.

Alan Wapner is president of Ontario International Airport Authority and Ontario City Councilman. Lots of notability.

My good friend know him very well which they're from same area and it was a surprise got his name called but sad he didn't get on stage.  I have this on my DVR and showed just the first four w/ him to contestants row to my friend.  - We don't think it's FAIR Kelly told him not to up her bid like one other quote said in recaps!!
