Congrats namnhu12 on finally getting your “spinner” 😁.  I’m just sorry you weren’t able to “round the corner”.  I wanted to be in chat but Discord was not being friendly about setting up a new account.

Another awesome show today. The Half Off $50,000 win is enough to be a great show, even if both car games are lost.

I was reminded today that they're filling the row from red to green nowadays instead of green to red. The latter is how it should be done and was done so the first one called gets to bid last right away, but things got muddled like 5-10 years ago. Felt like it mattered today, sadly - really wish they would fix that....
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Nam, allow me to also express my congratulations for making it onto the show. It's always awesome when true LFATs get picked, and even more so when it's longtime members of the community seeing their dreams come true. Sorry about your luck, but I'm sure the memories will last a lifetime. I'm sure December 19, 2033 cannot come fast enough 😀

Good show today! Also it was sweet that they had Bob’s nephew on to bring out today’s pet up for adoption.
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

Hi guys, I've been watching every day for 2 years now but I'm new to the forums. Congratulations to Nam for appearing on the show!

I made an account to post a question, though. Blake won his showcase today and was there with his husband Timothy. Timothy appeared on the show with who I can only assume was his mom on the episode that aired on 12/6 and also won his showcase. Are two members of the same family allowed to appear as contestants on the show in such a short period of time?

I'm familiar with most of the rules but not all of them and figured the show would catch that kind of thing if it was against the rules but it's just such a surprise to me considering I've never seen that happen before, especially in such a short period of time. It was doubly surprising considering they both won their prizes and showcase, accumulating over $110k worth of prizes. Have family members of contestants casually shown up in past episodes before, especially so close?

It's allowed. As long as you yourself haven't been called down to play within the last 10 years, you're eligible (other eligibility qualifications excluded of course)

It's usually not done because of it could look like the show is "preferring" a specific group over another, but I'm sure this wasn't done out of malice. I also doubt they "forgot" that Timothy was just on the show, especially because he had to disqualify himself at check-in. I think they just really liked Blake and picked him without caring about Timothy just being on.

The closest thing I can think of to this happening before is when Caridad Pfeiffer, who played on 1285K 12/3/99 showed up and played with her daughter on the first kids special (6314K 5/3/13) but it's not quite the same thing. I'm sure it's happened many times in the past. The only reason I could think of this one off the top of my head is because Caridad and I were line buddies back in August.
YES! You have them all right! You win $2,500! You will putt from the closest line!

Jhc2010 putts from the closest line and WINS!!!

Congratulations! Those 2 cars are yours! Now we go to the Showcase Showdown! You will spin first. Pick a number between 1 and 20.

Echoing what everyone said about Nam.  It was sad that things were not better; I would have loved to see what you could've done on stage (and if you would've made it past the SCSD and into the showcase).  As mentioned, it was nice that you had a shot and for the entire show, as opposed to being called 8th or something.

On a related note (I suppose), I'm with Wayo in terms of the line-up for the first four.  I guess you can call it admiring something that took place in the past but is no longer the case.  Yet another case here, but while it hasn't been someone I've lost sleep over, I am also not a fan of having a mandatory contestants row line up of Red-Blue-Yellow-Green.  I think it was no harm to have the arrival of the first four different (or not the same) throughout a season.

Though it might've been too much to have people choose any vacant spot at the beginning, I think if I was called 2nd, I would pick red if green was occupied or green if red was occupied.  Bidding first is okay if you (and someone else) knows the price.

Anyway, not a total big deal, even though I think the first person called should have that choice.  I do agree that if they have to stick to one order that it should be left to right in terms of the audience view (Green-Yellow-Blue-Red).  What could've been.

Nevertheless, total solid show, including awesome wins in Bullseye and 1/2 Off.  Especially the latter on days where it's more than the standard max cash amount.  Too bad about More or Less.  Even when it's not won, it's still a very lovely pricing game that rewards players based on how they perform.

Good morning from Tifton, GA.  My name is Nam Nhu and I am a long time member of golden-road.net.  Yes, it is I who got my permanent place as the limo driver of the First Four Breakfast Club.

 Taping Report:
To begin, I have to go all the way back to Sunday November 12, 2023. It was a long day for me because I had to work from 10 to 6Pm, then go home get my luggage and go toward Atlanta to fly out the next morning.  After getting lost to find my hotel (there are 2 Sonesta Hotels around Hartsfield), I did not go to bed until late and got only 4 hours of sleep.  The next day, I fly out to Burbank via Phoenix.  I landed around 1030AM and had the option of attending the 12pm taping that will air today (12/20/2023).  Instead, I meet with Tris and Henry (he was on the Holiday Singles show) and ended going to the 3pm show (this will air tomorrow 12/21/2023).
Anyways, the show that we attended was the 8am show that taped on 11/14/2023.  The day ended up feeling so different.  The people instantly recognized me from the day before and I brought Krispy Kreme doughnuts.  The interview process went well.  As a returner to a taping, it did help my chances (Ashley whom played Lucky 7 was in a group who went to Monday's Cash Explosion).
As for the actual taping, it was delayed for 45 minutes.  A hinge on door 2 was broken and they had to lower the Race Game Wall to fix it while everyone was already seated.  We had thought that Drew was going to make a unique entrance, but alas, it was fixed and it was time.  When my name was called, it took me a second to register because they actually mispelled my name.  Then, they pointed and me and my lifelong dream came true.  22 years and 13 tapings later, I got called on down.  As for contestants row, it was very surreal to be able to stand there.  And you could say, I got to stay in the red spot for an extra 45 minutes because they had to do multiple reshoots with Barker's nephew.  Unfortunately, my head was pounding since I was on a total of 9 hours of sleep in 2 days.  I will quote what George tell people in warmups.  It is easy to make bids when you are at home in your underwear and eating Cherrios, it is another to do it in front of 5 cameras, 175 people screaming in your ears, and the studio lights come down.  Nevertheless, it was a thrill just to be able to hear my name (although George did not pronounce my name correctly (Nhu is pronounced New).

As for advice on where to stay and eat, I will give your some good tips while you are in the area.  For the 1st night, I stayed at the Glendale Hotel (1510 East Colorado Street).  It is a bare bones hotel that is comfortable and very affordable.  It is just 10 minutes east of the studio.  The 2nd place I stayed at was the Glendale Express (450 Pioneer Street).  It is another bare bones place that is comfortable and at a great location.  They don't have free breakast, but there is a Jack in the Box just north of the 134.

As for places to eat, Porto Bakery (315 North Brand Blvd Glendale) is a Cuban Bakery that is always on everyone's list of place to eat.  The Glendale Galleria has the Din Tai Fung and many other delicious eats.  In-N-Out Burger is in the neighborhood as well.  In Burbank, my go to places are Canes Chicken (1750 West Olive Avenue) and Black Angus (235 South Ikea Way).

And the last 2 pieces of advice:   If you are able to fly into Burbank, do it.  It is a lot easier to travel in and out of and it is only 9 miles from Haven.  As for the show, ESP.  Energy, Smile, Personality.

Have family members of contestants casually shown up in past episodes before, especially so close?

Following up on some other responses, there was actually a show in Season 35 where a mother and daughter both got called down and were in Contestants' Row at the same time.  It was a mistake -- they were planning to call one of them for a host audition "taping" later in the day, and the lists got mixed up -- but nothing about it is against the rules.

Thanks guys. I figured it was allowed and someone would've caught it otherwise, it was just so surprising to see a familiar face up on the stage for a second time in two weeks (other than Drew and the models, of course).
