ALL HAIL CHERL

Quote from: Bill Todman
"The sign of a good game, is when you don't have to explain it every day. The key is not simplicity, but apparent simplicity. Password looks like any idiot could have made it up, but we have 14 of our people working on that show. There is a great complexity behind the screen. It requires great work to keep it simple."

That win in That's Too Much! seemed to come out of nowhere, usually, the winning solution is the 3rd or 4th, not the 6th or 7th. I noticed Drew acknowledged that this was the last show of the year and he wished everyone a happy 2024. Does that mean there's no Friday show for this week? I'm wondering now if this week taped with only three shows instead of four, unless this was the Friday show and they pulled the Thursday show or something. Also, I hope everybody has a happy New Year.

It probably has to do with the annual broadcast of the Sun Bowl on CBS; the network isn't sending out any episode of LMAD on Friday nor The Talk, and the episodes of B&B and Y&R are reruns in the listings (if they even clear; depends on the time zone and if the game runs long probably).  While TPIR could in theory air a new episode coast to coast, just getting it in on the west coast (Hawaii/Alaska being another story), the network probably just decided to throw in the towel on new daytime programming on Friday.

"They always say one more!" - one of my favorite Drew quotes

Yes, yes, yes! Finally a win on That's Too Much! I couldn't be happier for her. Not just that she broke the losing streak, but that the car is a pretty nice one. I think That's Too Much deserves a stay of execution for now.

Recap posted.

Notes:

1. The closed captioning on Gridlock started explaining the Outlander Sport 2.0ES for some reason.

2. This is the last show for this week and calendar year. Due to as Allan Sherman put it, college bowl, there is no show tomorrow, Friday, December 29, 2023. There is also no show on Monday, January 1, 2024.

3. Have a happy new year and 2023 can go be blown up for the howitzer of hell it's brought me.

I was really thinking the cookware for One Wrong Price, that price just seemed high to me compared to the TV.

We finally have a That's Too Much win! Maybe the Detroit Pistons need to sign Cherl :-D

OWP: Cameron was certainly wise to choose the tv, especially when some folks were begging him to pick the cookware

TTM: Cherl for the win! We waited over 30 frickin' plays for this to happen and this was a Godsend if ever the term existed!

TiM: David just had the absolute worst luck in the universe, and honestly? I can't blame him because the glue would've tripped me up

SX: Ray played it like a pro and definitely deserved to win

CG: Alana cut it a bit close, but sometimes close is enough for a victory

GL!: Madison waited the whole show, Toronto native who got her license 2 weeks prior, and this playing made it all the more worthwhile! Thank the Lord she chose 20 instead of 42 or she would've been screwed

In spite of what happened to David, it was a great episode nevertheless!

The price of the coffee in Time is Money was evil! I did get the gum in the cheapest and the body spray in the most expensive tiers.

Not really - it's a box with 6 single servings of instant coffee.  Outside of the Starbucks version, those packs are often available in dollar stores (or similar sections in other stores where items are $1, $1.25, $1.50 etc.).

It was actually placed correctly the first time around, but unfortunately moved after that :)

That's Too Much! being won is indeed a holiday miracle.

Time is Money with a $0 payout again (yawn).  I grow to hate this game more and more with each passing day.
