First show of 2024 and it hardly disappointed!  :-D

SbS: Would've lost banking on the bar being $8,000 instead of the other way around. Thankfully, William did no such thing!

DG: Petra played with hardly any faults and a VERY smart guess on the last number.

PaP: Shanetha certainly had her grocery prices down right!

PC: Barbara played brilliantly and thank goodness she didn't make a 3rd mistake or she would've been screwed!

DtM: Steven and the audience weren't fooled by the shuffleboard table being less than the bags

P!: If only Rosa had done better with the small prizes, she would've had a better chance to win more

All in all, 5 out of 6 games is a great result either way you slice it  :D

Anyone else felt a slight letdown by Plinko appearing in slot #6 after a hard-fought 5-game win streak, including a Pocket Change win? So close to a perfect show.

I know I certainly did. In fact, I was praying that it would've been something like Grand Game instead.

Plinko! should never and I repeat never be played last again it ruined a chance at a Perfect Show it wouldn't bother me at all if one of the PG's had been lost.

For understandable reasons, I was hoping it would be lost so I wouldn't have to deal with the inevitable whining.

Nearly no viewers care about the nitpicky “it’s not won” thing with Plinko, nor get worked up over a game not being won. It also makes no difference if the game was first or last; the results are the results.

In terms of the Plinko ruining the perfect show talk, what would've brought the biggest smile to my face (outside of the obvious outcome) would've been for Rosa to have won all 4 chips, dropped the first 4 in the center slot, and then the last one just moves to the left or right at the last second & into the zero slot.

Also an unlikely outcome...but as a result, the only person not winning his or her pricing game ends up as the biggest winner (cash & prizes) for the day.  Not a big deal at all.  Could not agree more with imhomerjay.  Too many other more concerning things in life to worry about a perfect show not taking place thanks to Plinko.  Or any other pricing game TBH

Drew did not bring up the win record today or that we were approaching a perfect show heading into Game 6. There could be a few reasons for this:
  • He knew Plinko was the last game and didn't want to address it. This seems unlikely because Drew has claimed to not look at the lineup before the show.
  • He did make mention of it, but it was edited out because Plinko was the last game and lost.
  • He didn't realize that we had gone 5/5 in pricing games.
If it's the last one, someone on the staff needs to give him a heads up before the final game.

I noticed in the top of the recap this is the Friday show while the FAQ shows this week going "Unknown, January 3-4, 2". Were the Tuesday and Friday shows just swapped this week or has an episode been pulled? If Friday ends up being a rerun, it's likely due to a trip to the recently earthquake struck Japan.

Not entirely sure, but I'm guessing it's something along the lines of the former.  All I know for certain is that this is Friday's show.

If Friday ends up being a rerun, it's likely due to a trip to the recently earthquake struck Japan.

That seems unlikely -- this was taped well in advance, and for whatever reason, what with Drew mentioning that it was the first show of the year, they clearly intended from the beginning to air it today even though it's not today's show.

It was pointed out in chat that mentions of the New Year were all done off camera and are suspected to be recordings edited in later.

Have I been asleep at the wheel, or was the color/presentation of the correct numbers in Pocket Change different than before?

If a pricing game had been lost before Plinko was played I wouldn't have a problem with it playing last that's all I'm saying.
