It's been about 4 years since Pathfinder's outcome was as terrible as today's playing.  That's too bad.  It's still tough to go through the game without getting off of the first number, but it can be tough to get off of there at the same time if you don't know pricing.  Too bad nothing positive came off of Pathfinder today.  In Bob's penultimate season, a similar outcome took place in consecutive plays of the game.  Not an easy pricing game at all, but still tough (and unlucky) for a $0 result.

In positive news, its never not a good thing for a Grand Game winner.  I still wish that it was played for a higher top prize more often than they do (not just on special episodes), but when $1000 can help with one's monthly bills, 10X as much sure help with a year more or less.

Myself, the grand prize would be $25,000 minimum, with the option of going higher for prime time ($50,000) and special episodes. But $10,000 ain't hay even these days ... as you note, $10,000 can sure pay off some bills and get you something really nice.

As far as the World Book goes, when was the last time the print edition of the World Book – I presume this was the new 2024 edition, and the only print encyclopedia still going – was offered as a prize, either in a showcase or standalone prize? Still is a mighty nice resource tool and will help begin a lot of those research papers ... or just handy to look up something quick and also have a permanent print record of history.

I was surprised to see the printed World Book still going. I hope it sticks around in this digital age.

The (current) print World Book set appeared on the Geniuses primetime special last year as part of a showcase.  (The one in the first playing of Back to '73 under that name was an old set, with an ARP of only $244.  How things have gone up over 50 years!)

Well that was fun.  :-D

I'm glad folks were happy with Grand Game. Really sad the 75 got me on the wheel again 13 years later. Here's to 2034!

Thank you to everyone who posted about the new location and how to prepare for the show! It was really helpful this time around, especially since my parents were with me in the audience! You guys are the most useful fan site for my favorite game show!

Congrats Crocodile!

Password looks like any idiot could have made it up, but we have 14 of our people working on that show. There is a great complexity behind the screen. It requires great work to keep it simple."
