This was definitely a mixed bag of an episode. The contestant quality was high (and it was nice to see both Carlo and Shanna, who were in our interview group, get called), and it was AMAZING to have Road be the first game I ever saw in Haven, but the PG results were definitely lacking.
We were split as a group on Road. I wanted 0, but I really wasn't sure. Nancy was a hoot, and I was sad that she didn't win more.
So
THIS playing of Push was why I reacted why I did when I saw what was playing - not because I was disappointed it wasn't Bullseye or CoG (though that was a part of it, too). I was expecting another evil setup. Without even thinking, I said something like "I saw it lost yesterday!", which, unsurprisingly, they edited out.
We were unified on 11, too, and Jessica heard us...just wasn't meant to be.
Gary was there to support his sister, but he ended up being the one called. Nice win, and it was nice to spend time with him the next day in the holding area.
Gridlock was really disappointing. Tinnie clearly almost wiped out, and it was our group's reaction that got her to change her mind - though it ended up not making a difference. If only she had listened to us earlier with 13, OR if only that Forte had shown up BEFORE we went to a taping (the exact one showed up just a few days later). Not happy that they used a car with a whopping $30 in options...
Grocery was a disaster, and what we saw on air was heavily edited down. There was absolutely no unity within the audience's suggestions, and I can't blame Carlo at all for what he ended up doing.
Not much to say about the Showcases, other than I know I went over on both. Cheap Montreal and an unloaded Elantra will do that to you.
I'm just disappointed that we'll never find out the meaning of Caleb's "The Slice Is Right/Cheesecake" shirt, since he never got up on stage! LOL I'm guessing he's a baker by profession, or something like that. That's the type of thing that Bob would have commented on coming back from a commercial, back when they had time for such things ...
Kaleb's group was from the corporate offices of The Cheesecake Factory. They were seated right in front of us. We tried our best to help him, but he got stuck with some difficult-to-price IUFBs.
After this taping, we went to The Cheesecake Factory in Glendale for lunch, and Kaleb's group was also there. Out of the blue, they comped us some free cheesecake for helping him. That was really nice, totally unexpected, and by far the best part about this day.
