If only Wilmer had said $5,000 + for the appliances in Double Prices and if only the bids had been slightly lower in the Showcase round, it would've ended much differently!  :oww:

Putting my notes separately:

- Despite the double overbid, this was a fantastic show for a plethora of reasons. The 4/5 first turn in Cover. Man, imagine if he had done 7 the first run, Drew would've lost his mind. Hot Seat, it was pretty clear pretty quickly that Janine had it played perfectly and I still wouldn't have blamed her if she bailed with $10,000. Good for her getting the $20,000.

- Stack the Deck: While I'm an advocate for a free pick still to help the winning rate a tad, this made me incredibly ecstatic because as most know, Stack is my favourite game on the show. She played it very well, especially with not all the GPs being guarantees. (How many people know pine nuts are almost $10?) Need more wins like that. Drew's handling of the reveal deserves credit. Given the 2nd number wasn't easy, Drew built up the suspense before he hit the button.

- A note about the theme in Cover Up, which led to some displeasure in the Discord server. Today is Jonathan Magnum's 53rd birthday. The Price is Right and Let's Make a Deal are sister shows and now tape in the same complex. CBS has treated them as sister shows for years. We have had 2 crossover weeks and Jonathan has appeared as an April Fools joke. Drew shouting out Jon's 53rd birthday is fine. The themes in Cover Up are a lot more fun than the numbers. We had the Christmas tree trashing last time and no one was upset. But because it was Jonathan, suddenly people are upset we're promoting a sister show. This isn't Bill Goodwin on Penny to a Million promoting Bert Parks' Beat the Clock on a different network. It's meant in good fun. Don't need to take this seriously.

- Double overbids suck. It happens. Part of a game where we promote excellent shoppers. That doesn't ruin what was a show to remember all season. All we lost is about $30,000 in winnings. Will anyone actually care about that in a year? More likely the Cover, Seat and Stack wins will be remembered more than some lousy double overbid.

Well, you do make some valid points overall. The wins in Cover Up, Hot Seat, and Stack the Deck are certainly hard-earned and well-deserved victories that will be remembered for a long time and, in all fairness, I don't see how the homage to Jonathan Mangum was bad in any shape, way, or form. I thought it was very sweet overall. That said, I wonder if TPiR and LMaD will ever do another Mashup Week in the near future, whether this season or next

Indeed what a great show today (aside from the double overbid in the Showcase). Enthusiastic contestants and some fantastic wins!

Awesome win in Cover Up, and tremendous, perfectly played wins in Hot Seat and Stack The Deck! (One of my favorite games!)

Seat AND Stack wins? Weird Cover playing? Evil pine nuts gotten right? 40 nearly won a showdown? Double over at the end? This was probably the kookiest show of the season to date and may stand up as such.

I am getting tired of people overpricing generic kitchens though - I just don't understand why that prize in particular is so hard for the average contestant vs. other stuff.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Who would've thought that with Hot Seat and Stack The Deck in the lineup, it would be Double Prices of all things that costs us a 6/6 on the pricing games!

Probably because some people these days believe that appliances like that are very, very expensive. As far as I can tell anyway

i kinda blame the popularity of much of the content on HGTV (be it one of the many home reno/flipping shows or the 50 House Hunters episodes per week) for the misconception

This is a show of the season for me , when I expecting losses with some of these setups , I'm getting wins left and right.
Vaughn is the 1st contestant since 4/7/11 who's 1st turn in Cover-Up ended with only the 2nd number wrong.

Today was a great episode!

And have I just happened to miss the appearances of it, or have we not seen the Tugboat yet this season?
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

A Double Prices loss is a bad way to start a show, but the excellent Cover Up playing and Hot Seat win really made up for it. Throw in a textbook playing of Stack the Deck and this was a great show even with the double overbid!

It’s a good thing that she got all three prices right in Stack The Deck because nobody would have guessed that the price of the car ended in 13.
