Christopher's showcase price was screaming for a perfecto. If only he added 500 (like a lot of people do) to the $37,000 instead of 950.

Nothing will ever bewilder me more than an early Drew episode in which a Showcase somehow came out to exactly $40,000.

Is that the closest Rat ever (at least for 1st/2nd when the contestant only has one of them)? Pink beat blue to the stopping point, it was that close.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Oh my gosh. That playing of Rat Race (one of my favorite games) was so close.  I don't think you can get much closer then that.  So glad the car was won.

Regarding the Double Overbid on today's show, I will say what I said on the TikTok post (not from the Official Price is Right account)

It's not the Double Overbids that hurt... it's when they're so freakin' close!

Christopher missing his by a MERE $450.
Taryn missing hers by a MERE $331.

That, my fellow Price fans, is my definition of pain, blues and ag-go-ny (agony)!

The light bulb casualty at the conclusion of Bonkers is the third one we’ve had in the last couple of weeks.  Drew walked into one and knocked it out of its socket after a recent playing of Safe Crackers, and a contestant broke one coming up on stage from Contestants’ Row recently.

Double WSDs (when both overbid by $250 or less) are even worse. Wonder if any episodes had those?

Oh, you're so right.  I'm almost willing to bet that our fellow Price fans here on this very site will tell us when this happened, under who's watch (Barker or Carey) and how close the margin of defeat was.

I'd love to see what the closest overbid in Price history was.

EDIT: It was $1, on 7-12-1974 (Lynn) and 10-19-2004 (Judith).
