I guess it was nice to see six digit 3X.  IDK.  I'd have preferred a one-time rule change back to where there was 1 strike in the bag instead of this.  Obviously, not for a Maserati, but a less glorified car

I guess they felt they couldn't get a true cash game in there with Shell & 3X? Straight up Vend for 100k is just too easy for my tastes, and I wasn't alone in chat.

Not everyone really cares about first class, I found the rule change interesting but the actual prize associated with it pretty crappy. And it came into sharp contrast with the usual exacta bonus when she managed to (very unexpectedly given the setup!) go 4/4 on SPs. Can't really blame her for hedging her bets there.

Giving the free 1 in 6-digit 3X was welcome, but I still think the game is awkward with 6 digits. Not that it mattered.... it's like in only 20% of playings now does it even sniff a win.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

A tough setup in That's Too Much wasn't the best way to start the show. It just felt unnecessary to play Vend-O-Price for $100,000, they could've made it half or even $25,000.

Jennifer getting all 4 chips in Shell Game was pretty impressive given the first two SPs were a bit of a toss-up. I was surprised she chose a different shell for the cash equivalent bonus, and it turns out she should've stuck with the same shell. It was nice she won the gold shell upgrade, but it did end up being a bit of a disappointment she didn't get the cash too.

Nice to see 3 Strikes in primetime, but it was a downer for sure she could only put 1 number up before the 3rd strike.

If they're going to play Vend-O-Price for $100k, it needs to be a much, much, much harder setup. That may have been the easiest the game has ever been.

Otherwise, Shell Game was enjoyable, though the gimmick of upgrading to first class isn't that big a deal (probably worth about $1,500, as it's not a transatlantic or transpacific flight.)

Call me crazy if you want to, but I love easy setups for big money like Vend-O-Price tonight. If I got up on stage and was essentially handed $100,000, I'd be stoked.

Taping Report:

This is indeed 73SP.  Taped on 11/17/2023.  Final taping of the week last taping I attended out of 6.  It was a very interesting show to see in person.

You think that this chat doesn't look forward to That's Too Much?  Guess what?  People were hissing and booing very quietly in studio as well.  It wasn't too friendly of a setup.  Keep in mind that last week's special was the morning show from the same day, so we were kinda surprised to see Vend for $100,000.  It was an easy setup only because they sell that refrigerated protein stuff at Publix.  And I got to talk to Alexis right after the game was over.  I told her that she was doing an excellent job and welcome to the Price family.

Shell Game is set in parts during stopdown.  They actually spin the turntable, bring the covered table out, then spin the turntable and reveal the SP podiums.  They don't unveil the actual game until right before the IUFB.  And the graphics don't start until right after the bid reveal.  They actually had a little stopdown for this play since the wrong copy was read during the 1st SP description.  It was an interesting play, but we confused while in studio as to exactly what she won.  At first, my contact and I figured out whether it was an all or nothing situation with Shell. Did she have to pick the right shell to win the bonus and cash?  Turned out that it was answered tonight.  She won the 1st class tickets, but no cash bonus.  While most of us wondered why she didn't pick the golden chip, now that I think about it, it made sense why she picked #3 shell.  I think the cash bonus is much more than the 1st class. The contestant told me afterwards why she did not pick the golden chip, was simple.  She was nervous and did not think it through.

Most of the audience lost Switch? That bathroom looked very fancy.  Squeeze was an easy setup.  3 Strikes, well, I think most of us would not win that Maserati.  Would you have ever thought that the 2nd one would be next to the 1st one?  I think not.  It took a long time for them to set up 3 Strikes and then remove the car from door 3.  Like the electric Jaguar from 2 weeks ago, they took extra shots for the reveal and then white glove treatment to get it out.  And yes, I sat in the very back right of the studio for this taping.  Nevertheless, it was a great show and afterwards I got to take a picture.
I got to live my lifelong dream on December 19, 2023.

For the record I would have won Vend-O-Price.

The golden Shell Game chip reminded me of Steve's Plinko idea.

"The sign of a good game, is when you don't have to explain it every day. The key is not simplicity, but apparent simplicity. Password looks like any idiot could have made it up, but we have 14 of our people working on that show. There is a great complexity behind the screen. It requires great work to keep it simple."

Wow, I was certain that we would never see six-digit 3 Strikes ever again. The first digit being revealed was a good look, despite the loss.

James was struggling to open a box of Brown Bites.  :-) Right next to it he could have had a bag of Drewritos. On the top shelf of the machine were Chips, Extra Plain. On the bottom were Plinko Cups, Take Two bars, and More or Less bars.

The drinks were Mtn. Drew, Wise George, Tahiti water, and Genius water.

What's funny is that this is a show that uses branded grocery items all the time. They could have used Lays's potato chips, Doritos, Milk Duds, Reese's Cups, Take 5, Now and Later, Mtn. Dew, Fiji water, and Smart Water. (I can't figure out what Wise George was based on.)

They went to the trouble of building the props instead.

Just caught this one.  I also hated the $100K in "Eazy as Vendo Price" but overjoyed that Cheryl won the money.  Her reaction was authentic and I really hope the winnings bring her much joy.  In terms of the rest of the show, the Shell Game twist was a flop.   How much is a 1st class upgrade?  Maybe $5,000?  But hey let's offer $60,000 if someone "loses" Any Number.   Great to see 3 Strikes "+"  Very hard but the price looked winnable had luck been on her side.
