This episode's Do The Math cash amount of $2,000 is the highest in any daytime episode, surpassing the previous record of $1,895 from April 1, 2014.
Watching since the late 2000s, playing along since 2021.

I have to say I really like Drew's willingness to promote and discuss mental health and I am so glad the Cover Up contestant and Drew had a nice moment about that.

Eric played the start of Cover Up horribly. He was lucky to get a chance at the last number.

Eric is the 1st contestant since 2013 to miss the 1st number in Cover-Up in their 1st attempt and get another turn.

I know it wasn't intentional on his part, but you're supposed to throw the first number to guarantee yourself a third chance. Of course that assumes you get at least one of the other 4 numbers right.
YES! You have them all right! You win $2,500! You will putt from the closest line!

Jhc2010 putts from the closest line and WINS!!!

Congratulations! Those 2 cars are yours! Now we go to the Showcase Showdown! You will spin first. Pick a number between 1 and 20.

The playing of Cover Up was just poor, period. If he was so certain the second number was eight on his second chance, then he should have picked the three since the first number was going to give him another chance. That would give him one more free pick.

I instead interpret the strategy as you're supposed to whiff on the second number and play the rest of the numbers straight. It would insure against a freak incident where I don't get any of the last three numbers right, which nearly happened to Eric today.

Fun fact:  Assuming the two shows that were skipped in December just don't exist (and I've seen nothing that suggests they do), this was episode 9,810, which means we're exactly one season away from episode 10,000.

What the heck is going on with Any Number this season?  If I'm not mistaken, this is the third time in about three months that someone has played the longest game possible that ended with nothing lit up in the car.  That never happens -- except all of a sudden, it keeps happening.

Eric played the start of Cover Up horribly. He was lucky to get a chance at the last number.

Cover Up was just strange on this episode.  I'm pretty sure Eric knew the first number was 2, but for some reason, a ton of people in the audience were telling him 4, and he looked at them strangely but went with it anyway.

Then again, Eric kind of seemed to be along for the ride the whole time he was onstage.  He was shocked that he got a second turn in Cover Up even though he seemed aware that the game wasn't over, and it looked like he was contemplating whether to take a third spin in the Showcase Showdown (which, of course, wasn't really his call).  Maybe the lights were getting to him?

I have to say I really like Drew's willingness to promote and discuss mental health and I am so glad the Cover Up contestant and Drew had a nice moment about that.

Drew seems to have become a one-man army promoting anything that's positive in the world.  That sounds kind of trite, but I really don't know how else to describe what he's doing.  Frankly, it's something we need more of.

I was wishing Eric would pick the 3 for the 2nd number on his 2nd turn since he could have saved the 8 for an automatic correct number on the 3rd turn and be guaranteed a 4th turn. Also, I don't think he was contemplating whether to take a third spin since he should know you only get two spins.

Then how do you explain the moment after his second spin where he was glancing at the wheel and seemed to be trying to decide whether to spin again?

I'm not sure, but even if he never saw the show, shouldn't he have been briefed on the rules to know that you don't get more than two spins?

That still doesn't change the fact that he appeared to be contemplating taking a third spin.

Let me give you a recap of what I remember from the Showcase Showdown briefing given to me as a contestant.

"Womp womp womp womp womp all the way around womp womp womp no last names womp womp womp camera 4 womp womp womp"

Even as important as that briefing was, there was such much going on around me that it was impossible for me to focus on what the person briefing me was saying. Now yes, I know the rules of the Showcase Showdown inside and out, so it's not the end of the world, but someone who's not as experienced with the show could totally zone out and miss the "you only get two spins" rule.
