TPIR Monopoly Board
« on: March 19, 2024, 07:46:17 PM »
With 70-80 games to work with, I'm going to try something unique.  If You could make a custom Monopoly board with pricing games as the spaces, as hasbro seems to create countless special editions, I'm going to make a sample list with the original street and the game I'd change it to.

Mediterrian Ave: Double Prices
Baltic Avenue: One Right Price

Railroad

Centeinnial Avenue: Squeeze Play
Vermont Avenue: Danger Price
Connecticut Avenue: Shopping Spree

Prison

St. Charles Place: Any Number
States Avneue: Gridlock
Virginia Avenue: Cover Up

Railroad

St. James Avenue: Spelling Bee
Tennessee Avenue: Hole in One
New York Avenue: Stack the Deck

Free Parking

Kentucy Avenue: Punch-a-Bunch
Indiana Avenue: Grand Game
Illinois Avenue: Half-Off

Railroad

Atlantic Avenue: Hot Seat
Ventinor Avenue: Plinko
Marvin Avnue: Pay the Rent

Go to Jail

Pacific Avenue: Ten Chances
North Carolina Avenue: Rat Race
Pennsylvania Avenue: More or Less

Railroad

Triple Play: Park Place
Boardwalk: Golden Road

Go! And around we go.
Shows I Attended:
#4234K, #4235K, #8453K,
#0342L, #0314L, #0315L, #0321L, #0322L,

I'll give it a try, though it's not easy to narrow it down from so many active games. I'd go further and redo the special spaces as well.

(Don't be surprised if someone can do better than me.)

------------
Come on down! (GO)
------------
Double Prices (Mediterranean Avenue)
Bonus Game (Community Chest)
Side By Side (Baltic Avenue)
1/2 Off (Income Tax...though not actually half)
1 Right Price (Reading Railroad)
Squeeze Play (Oriental Avenue)
Card Game (Chance)
Pick-A-Number (Vermont Avenue)
Flip Flop (Connecticut Avenue)
------------
Gridlock! (In Jail) - Coming or Going (Just Visiting)
------------
Vend-O-Price (St. Charles Place)
Swap Meet (Electric Company)
Bullseye (States Avenue)
Grocery Game (Virginia Avenue)
Take Two (Pennsylvania Railroad)
Grand Game (St. James Place)
Bonus Game (Community Chest)
Time Is Money (Tennessee Avenue)
To The Penny (New York Avenue)
------------
Freeze Frame (Free Parking)
------------
One Away (Kentucky Avenue)
Card Game (Chance)
Cover Up (Indiana Avenue)
Dice Game (Illinois Avenue)
3 Strikes (B&O Railroad)
Pass The Buck (Atlantic Avenue)
Hole In One (Ventnor Avenue)
Switch? (Water Works)
Let 'Em Roll (Marvin Gardens)
------------
OVER (Go To Jail ...I can't think of an active game more suitable than this.)
------------
Cliff Hangers (Pacific Avenue)
Pathfinder (North Carolina Avenue)
Bonus Game (Community Chest)
Master Key (Pennsylvania Avenue)
Eazy Az 123 (Short Line Railroad)
Card Game (Chance)
Plinko (Park Place)
Pay the Rent (Luxury Tax)
Golden Road (Boardwalk)
------------
Come on down! (GO)
------------

Telephone Game was retired because it was lame. (And no, we’re not making that up – that really is the official reason.)

Funnily enough, several years ago I started making a Price is Right Monopoly game using Bristol board and stock card. Not sure why I never finished it as I was more than half done. Over time my project got damaged from being moved and stored in different places. I have a rendition on Microsoft Paint of it (that I used as my guide of sorts) somewhere that I'll share if I can locate it.

For the Railroads, you could use an image of the Price is Right train.

B & O (For Barker & Olson) Railroad

Roddy Railroad (instead of Reading)

For Short Line maybe include an image of the golf ball on the closest line to the hole from Hole in One (or Two) game.

For the Community Chests, use the image from the Safe Crackers game.

For the Chance spaces, the question marks from the Secret "X" game.

This is the board I created several years ago. You can tell by the logo I used and the Drew-era doors I used just how old this is 😆

I love Monopoly, and these are some great ideas.
